A lil mess and Emery's 1yr check-up

We started out the morning "rolling" the bathroom!

While I was in the shower Emery discovered what she could do with toilet paper!
And big brother gave her a little help!

It was too funny! I just let them enjoy it because it was actually nice seeing my two babies play so sweet together...even if they were making a mess :)

We dropped Max at school and then headed to Emery's 1 year check-up! She loves to dig in any bag and pull EVERYTHING out!! Gotta LOVE it!

Dr. Christion said she looked great! She said "Can you believe we EVER thought there was anything wrong with this perfect little girl?!" I know right! Emery is just on Emery's timeline...it just took us a little while to figure it out! LOL

She weighed in at 19lbs 13oz which is 25 percentile

Height was 30 and 1/4 inches which is 75 percentile (however, she was all over that table so I don't think this is accurate)

Dr. C was thrilled with these measurements as she likes them long and lanky she said!

She is right on target for everything and Dr. C was amazed with how much she is talking. Emery was suppose to get 4 shots today but I decided to do 2 today and 2 next week since two of them were going to be brand new to her (MMR and Chicken pox) and she doesn't do that great with shots anyways. We also have her 1 yr pics with our dear friend Julie tomorrow and I didn't want them to not go well...here's hoping to these shots not bothering her.

Emery's Actual 1st Birthday (part 1)

Can't believe our lil princess is ONE!!! I picked her up out of her crib this morning singing to her and kissing her all over! I honestly cannot believe that I was at the hospital one year ago ready to have our lil miracle!

I was very emotional last night thinking about our baby girl turning ONE today! Her first year has just flown right by us!! Kind of bittersweet. I know there is so much fun times in the near future but I just want things to slow down....just a little:)
We had to start the morning off right with a little birthday breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and blueberries...just a few of her favorites!

She was quite the little ham this morning as we kept singing to her and telling her that she was the "Birthday Girl"!!

Nana and Pawpaw even called during breakfast to sing to her! She grabbed the phone from me and was loving every minute of it!! So sweet!

After breakfast we got the waterslide out to have some water fun! We had planned on going to the Children's Museum like we did with Max on his first bday but since Emery isn't walking yet I didn't really want her crawling all over the place and I wasn't sure it would be as fun for her...so we decided we would wait on that adventure for a later time.

It's my birthday...I can do what I want...(check out Emery's face in that pic...can we say ATTITUDE!!) I ran to my room to put on my suit and came back to a M-E-S-S! She was not Happy about being inside while Daddy and Max were already playing in the water outside! Ha!
It didn't take long to get that sweet smile back on her face! This girl LOVES some water!! This is actually the first time she has played on the waterslide. She has been napping most of the time we have had it out.

She really had a blast playing in the pool part...she wasn't much of a fan of the sliding part!

Max and Daddy doing a little boxing!! This is one of Max's FAVORITE things these days!

Playing with the fishes!

She may have not like sliding by herself but she liked it with Mommy!!

Me and my baby!!

Her FAVORITE thing of the day! I had her up at the top of the slide and I would shake the stairs to make her bounce around. She was laughing and cackling! She absolutely LOVED it!!

Momma and her precious babies!!

What a FUN time spending time together with our lil princess on her official FIRST birthday!!

Emery's Actual 1st Birthday (part 2)

Our plans were to meet Nana and Pawpaw at Texas Roadhouse for an early dinner (since I had to work...boo hoo) but they surprised us before hand with some balloons for the birthday girl!!

And one for big brother too!! A blue balloon with the #8!! Two of Max's favorite things!! He was SO EXCITED!!!
Emery LOVED her balloons as well. It was so sweet for my parents to do that. My mom knew how emotional I was about it being Emery's FIRST birthday and how I felt like it just wasn't really that special. Leave it to my mom to add that special touch. Thank you Nana and Pawpaw!! We are so blessed to have you!!

Sitting pretty!

I had Max help me pick out a little gift for Emery to open on her actual birthday. I think Emery was actually a little bit scared of the package. Ha!

She was very timid and shy to open it. Max decided he should help her out. Emery was totally fine with just leaving it in the bag.

But once big brother got it out and showed her what it was she was ALL about it!

She was having a BALL with it!

And big brother too!

Then it was off to dinner!

Can we say YUMMY!!! Emery was tearing up some rolls
as soon as we got there! Can you say lil DIVA?!

Family shot! Yes..we were all there including Nana and Pawpaw!!

After dinner we headed back to the house to have some birthday cake!

First stop was her rocking chair to get a few 1yr shots ! She was acting crazy. She was up and down and all over that chair. I did get a few cute ones thanks to Daddy and Nana getting her attention for the camera!

Time for cake!! Max and I whipped this strawberry cake up while Emery was napping!

Emery stuck her hand right in it! She put her fingers to her mouth and was saying "mmmm"!

Check out her face...she was so excited to see that cake coming to her!!

But she was a little overwhelmed by us all singing Happy Birthday to her. She didn't start eating the cake till we were done...or maybe we are just bad singers and we were scaring her...LOL

She was ALL about the cake though!!

I wanted to wait to see her with cake for the first time at her bday party but I just couldn't let her NOT having any cake on her actual birthday. I know I have said this a few times already but I honestly cannot believe my lil girl is ONE!! Shortly, after the cake I had to head to work :( and yes I shed a few tears on the way in. I was so sad to have to leave the family after such a wonderful day together. At least I get to look forward to spending most of the next weekend together as I am off Saturday night for her birthday party!! Yea!!!

Emery's FIRST time trying MILK!!

Well, its official...Emery has tried out MILK!!!

I was a little nervous as I have been doing everything Lactose/Dairy free her first year because she did not tolerate it at all. When I stopped breastfeeding I even did Soy Formula. But I wanted to give whole milk a try before I went straight to Soy.
Emery wasn't too interested in the milk in the cup. She kept playing with it at first but she did drink a little. Guess we will see how she will do with it. I am going to introduce it very slowly just to make sure we don't have any problems with it!!

Playdate at the Mall

We got together with some of our friends from our Sunday School class today!

We actually met up at the mall playground area. I have never really let the kids play here and I am not sure why. They had a BLAST! Especially Emery because a lot of it she could play on too!!
It was so nice to see everyone and enjoy some adult conversation too!

We had the play area to ourselves for most of the time we were there which was really nice.

SNACK TIME!! My kids love to eat. Our little friend Bliss came over to enjoy some gerber puffs with Emery!

The train got started up and the kids all got excited!

They were all waiting patiently for Ms Tracy to buy the tickets! Thanks again Tracy for our train ride! We had a great time!!

Max of course wanted to ride in the BLUE car!!!

It was pretty cute how it played "soul train" while it was going through the mall.

When we got back all the kids were playing on the riding toys right outside the playground. I didn't have any quarters but they were all content just playing in them without them moving!

Soon after we headed upstairs for lunch. The kids enjoyed having each other to eat with. Actually I think Max and Davis's favorite part was going on the elevator to the food court! Ha! That is all they talked about through lunch. I am pretty sure they asked me like 4 times if it was time to go back on the elevator yet!? Crazy what is so exciting to a 3 yr old!!
