Priddy Farms

Priddy Farms Family/Friend Fun with our Sunday School Class!
We started off with a hayride out to the pumpkin patch! Max found his pumpkin quick!

He ran back to the tractor to get ready and go back on the hayride! I think he enjoyed riding out to the pumpkin patch a lot!

Emery slept the entire ride!

So of the kids talking about their pumpkins they picked out! I love that there are so many kids Max's age! So FUN!

Once we got back from the hayride all the kids got to go on a train ride! Max didn't go because he did not like it. He got in the car with Andrew and then decided he didn't want to go!

Max went and played in the cars they had laying around while the other kids were on the train rides!

Emery just enjoyed being outside! She actually wasn't too fussy at all! What a HUGE blessing!

After all that playtime it was time to EAT! We grilled hotdogs, had chips, and little debbie cakes! You know all the kids LOVED dinner! I know it looks like Max is about to take a big bite of his HOTDOG but if you all know Max there is actually no hotdog in his bun! LOL! My lil carb man!

I couldn't get over how well all the kids did sitting together eating their dinner! So cute!

Now for some more PLAYTIME!!!

Max enjoyed playing with Davis in the sandbox and on the playground!

Dessert time! Max enjoying a few bites of a little debbie cake before giving it back to me all squished up. ugh!

It wasn't long after this picture that I realized I had LOST my camera! Thank goodness it was found and now I got to share our fun times at Priddy Farms!! We are truly blessed to have good friends to share FALL FUN with!

Emery is 2 months!

Little Miss Emery is 2 months old! She actually turned 2 months this past Wednesday and then we had our 2 month checkup on Thursday! Boy was that fun...
2 month stats: A whopping 12 lbs even and 23 inches! Wow this girl is getting BIG fast!! She is in the 75 percentile for height, weight, and head circumference.
Wearing: 0-3month clothes
Size 1 diaper but I think she could go to size 2

We got good and bad news at the doc visit. Miss Emery is doing great with her head control, grasping your finger with her hands, moving arms and legs all the time....but not so good on making eye contact, social smiling, and following slow moving objects. She also isn't really cooing and gurgling much either. Dr. Christian doesn't seem that concerned said that she may just be a little slow developing in that area. However, we are to go back at 3 months to get this all checked out again. So our homework is to give Miss Emery LOTS of FACE TIME! Well, I will have you know that is a little difficult when all Emery wants to do is close her eyes and scream! LOL

It is pretty obvious that Emery likes to EAT! Ha! She is eating 4oz pretty much every 3 hrs during the day and after her night bottle she usually goes about 5-7hrs before the middle of the night bottle and then another 3-4hrs after that one.
She still likes to sleep in our bed at night and be held. The girl likes to have her head snuggled up into the pillow with her face touching my face. She grunts and moves around until she gets just how she wants to be! She is so stinking silly! I will be glad when we can get her into her bed as I will finally be able to sleep again!
Emery is really enjoying her SWING these days! She pretty much takes her naps in the swing or her carseat since I refuse to hold her ALL DAY! I am very thankful that she likes her swing now so that I can have some breaks throughout the day. I know Max is glad too so I can have a little time here and there to play with him!

I really didn't get any good 2 month pics as Miss Emery was quite fussy when I was trying to take them. But then again there are very few times were she isn't fussy so I thought these pics were appropriate. She is still really really fussy at night (like there isn't much you can do to make her happy) we try to walk around and bounce but that doesn't always work either! I am sure it won't be long and these fussy days will be behind us...well, I am praying for that anyways!
I know it sounds like all I do is complain about how difficult Emery is but we truly do LOVE her and are so BLESSED to have her in our life! This past week she looked at me and smiled for the first time and I started crying! (yes, I am emotional) It truly made all this craziness worth it! Emery is our lil miracle!!

Update

First, I want to say THANKS to all of my friends and family that have commented on the blog, left me messages on facebook, texted, called, and emailed. You are ALL so wonderful and I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people! All of you have helped me realize that this is ALL normal and things WILL get better! I especially loved what you said Rachel (I think God has been trying to teach me that some days this really is too much for ME to handle, but its not too much for HIM.) This is SO TRUE and I am trying to remember that every day!

Oh and for the UPDATE....MY CAMERA WAS FOUND!!! Yea! I am not as irresponsible as I thought! What a relief, right!? Ha! I had sat the camera down in someone's sling chair and they folded it up in it and found it Monday night! I was such a HAPPY HAPPY girl Monday night! I think Max may have thought I LOST it! LOL

Emotional Basketcase!

I can honestly say that I have felt like a FAILURE more often than not in these past 8 and a half weeks since Emery was born. I really can't think of more than a few days were everyone in the house was actually "happy" at the same time! I know that there is an adjustment period when you have 2 kids but I don't think anyone can really prepare you for all the emotions you go through! I mean on one hand I feel like Max isn't getting the time and attention that he needs because Emery is such a difficult baby and on the other hand I feel like Emery isn't getting what she needs and maybe that is WHY she is a difficult baby! I just don't feel like I know what I am doing this time around. I know there are so many factors that come into play with all these emotions I am going through, like breastfeeding, pumping, no sleep (due to a baby that won't sleep unless she is being held), a very active 2 year old, and all the normal day to day things that need to be done, etc. etc. etc.

I guess the reason I am going there is because this past Saturday we went to Priddy Farms with our Sunday School Class. We had a GREAT time. Max was running around and enjoying playing with all the kids. I however LOST our camera that we just got a few months ago. I have been RACKING my brain since that night because I honestly have no recollection of what I did with it. I know that I kept it in my backpocket for most of the night but at the end of the night it wasn't there. I remember the last pics I took but don't remember what I did with the camera after that! Ugh! I am just so mad at myself. How can I be so irresponsible! I know I am human but I just never have been so irresponsible as I am now! The sad thing is this isn't the first thing I have missed place. I also lost my wedding rings in which I looked for hysterically crying and found them behind the deep freeze hours later!!! What the heck?! I don't remember even putting them there!!!

I also feel like I am MAD at the world ALL the time!! I mean I slammed a door a few weeks ago because I was being overly dramatic and this past week Max tried to slam a door in my face. I mean seriously how can you be mad at your child for repeating actions that he learned from YOU! I mean I did tell him NO he should not do that but I also had to say that mommy shouldn't have done it in the first place.

Things are just so crazy around here and I feel like Max is getting out of control. I guess I am worried he is getting out of control because of me or something I am doing wrong! I hate how when your kid does something bad you feel like you are a complete FAILURE! I mean Max bit at school this past week and I have just been so upset over it! What is happening to my sweet little boy! I mean does having another baby really cause such a BIG ADJUSTMENT to a 2 year olds life that he would start to act out in such a way that EVERYONE is noticing??? And if that is the case what can I do to make his world a little better? I mean he really seems to love Emery?! I just don't know what to do....I just feel like things are falling apart more often then not....

It doesn't help that I am dreading going back to work in less than 2 weeks! I guess I am worried that things are just going to get worse. I mean if Max is having this much trouble adjusting to Emery what is he going to do when I go back to work. I mean he has had mommy home for almost 6 months!!

Sorry, this post is kind of bouncing all over the place but I just have so many thoughts going through my head. I guess I just want to know if any others are going through things like this or if anyone has any suggestions on what to do to make things better. I just don't feel confident in anything I do these days.... I mean is this all normal?!

The past two weeks...

These past two weeks have flown right by us! I can honestly say I thought things went fast with one kid but you throw another one in the mix and it just goes so much FASTER!! AHHHH!! I wish I could slow things down a bit!!! So with that being said...this post is going to be all over the place....just warning you now....
Max and Emery hanging out in the playroom watching Baby Einstein. Max has gotten back into these for some reason. I really can't see what is that exciting about them for a 2 year old but whatever makes him happy!

Little Miss Emery is so much more ALERT these days! She is still very much "high maintenance" but I think I am getting use to it somewhat. I mean at least she is so stinking CUTE that you can't help but to forgot how BAD she can be.....LOL

I love how it looks like she is looking at the computer with daddy! So cute!!

This girl will NOT sleep in her bed!! She will sleep in her swing, carseat, bouncer (when she is VERY tired...like the pic below), couch, futon upstairs and of course her favorite place YOUR ARMS!!

Max is really a BIG help sometimes! He loves helping bath baby sister! I think it is so sweet that he cares about her so much already!

Here is Emery's 8 week chair shot! I totally missed out on the 7 week shot due to alot of things going on but I think she will forgive me one day...ha ha!

Emery and her first pumpkin! Max and Daddy picked this pumpkin out for her at the Cedar Hills Pumpkin Patch! Doesn't she just look so adorable! I just want to eat those chubby cheeks up!

So we have been doing all kind of fun activities lately. Yes...I have been getting out of the house with 2 kids in tow!!! Aren't you all so proud of me...ha! Just to name a few...we have had playdates, gone to Botanical Gardens Big Backyard, a road trip, lunch dates, and a few fall fun activities! So needless to say these past two weeks have been super busy and quite a blur!

Since I said this post was going to be all over the place....I think we are going to have another BLUE eyed baby! Check out those BIG BLUE EYES!!

We went to Cedar Hill Farms in Hernando, MS last Saturday for the first time! It was a lot of fun! They had so much to do like a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, a "choo choo" train ride, pig races, chicken races, petting zoo, puppet show, playgrounds, pony rides, face painting, a corn maze and on and on! We didn't do everything as it was pretty hot out and Max just isn't quite old enough for some of it but we had a GREAT time together as a family! I think this place will have to be a little fall tradition for us! Can't wait till next year when Emery can enjoy it too!

Emery is 6 weeks!

All I can say right now is WOW what a crazy 6 weeks these past 6 weeks have been!
Little Miss Emery you now have the nickname of "high maintenance"! You want to be held ALL DAY AND NIGHT!!! If you are not being held you are screaming and letting whoever and whatever know that you are NOT HAPPY!! LOL!

There are odd moments like this one that you do sleep in places other than someone's arms...and trust me I take full advantage of these moments! You look so sweet and innocent in this picture but mommy, daddy, and max know the REAL you....ha ha!

Even though you have the nickname "high maintenance" we wouldn't trade you for anything! We are all so in LOVE with you my precious little girl! Mommy and Daddy are now starting to get into somewhat of a routine with you. Every day/night is a little different but for the most part you are eating every 3-4 hrs during the day and every 4-5hrs at night. Mommy has gone back to pumping mostly because your latch hasn't been very good and you just seem to be fussy when I keep switching back and forth. You are taking about a 4oz bottle at each feeding!
You are very alert for a 6 week old. You have stayed awake for up to 6hrs at a time. The only problem with that is you get so tired that you fight going to sleep. I think you are worried you are going to miss out on something around here. Of course it doesn't help that you have a NOISY 2 year old brother that likes to wake you up for FUN!

You still won't sleep in your crib really. You would much rather be in mommy and daddy's bed. You love to have your head up against pillows and you love love to be nuzzled up against mommy (of course I love it too!!)! I know, I know this little girl has her mommy and daddy wrapped around her tiny little fingers!!!
You are getting better head control these days and you are liking your "tummy time" now! You are making some eye contact with us too! So FUN! We can't wait to start seeing your social smiles and cooing! I know it won't be long!

You are weighing in at about 11lbs now and about 21inches!! You are getting so BIG so FAST!!! Kind of makes me sad but I must say I am loving those chubby cheeks!! I was worried I wasn't going to have enough 0-3month clothes for you but at the rate you are growing I think you will be in 3-6 month clothes in the next 2 weeks!

So things may be a little CRAZY in the Lawson household but we are trying to remember that these stages only last a short time and we need to cherish every minute of it! I just keep telling myself to stay POSITIVE and to LET GO! GOD is in control and HE will help guide us through all of these transitions!

Max is 27 months!

It's been a while since I did a post just for Max! He actually turned 27 months a week and half ago! I am a little late on this post...ha!...imagine that!

Max you love to do crafts! You have really gotten into painting lately.

You are quite the little artist! Mommy and Daddy love all the pictures you have made us! You love to play with stamps and stickers too!

You are still OBSESSED with basketball! You even like to look at anything to do with basketball on the computer! We recently introduced you to games on the computer and you LOVE it! Here you are with Daddy looking at hoops!!

Yesterday, while you were at school I found you a set of 2 different basketball pjs at Target!
This is one set...
And this is the other set! I must say you LOVE them because you have had them on ALL day today! So adorable!

Here you are doing one of your FAVORITE things! You probably have 10 different basketballs now and you want Mommy and Daddy to play basketball with you all day and night! You even want to SLEEP with basketballs!!

You still LOVE books too! One of your favorites is your Bible! You have memorized some of your books and you will read them to us! You are such a SMART little boy!
I can't believe how much you have grown in just 3 months! It seems like yesterday you hardly filled up this chair!!! You are now weighing about 29lbs and are almost 3ft!!
You are wearing a size 2T for most things and we just got you new shoes and they are a size 9!!

You are such a sweet, caring little boy! You love to snuggle, kiss, hug, and love on all of us! You are so sweet to your baby sister too! You always want to know where she is and what she is doing. You love to give her kisses! (don't worry I will remind you of this in a few years when all you two are doing is fighting!) You are a little rough with your sister so you are learning the true meaning of the word "gentle" these days!

You are talking ALL the time and we can really have a conversation with you now! Some of our favorite things you say right now: "let's take it to the hoop!", "i dumped it! (aka dunked it), "i soooo happy momma!", "i can't like it" (i don't like it), and many more that I just can't think of right this minute!
You love to SING! You know ALL the words to itsy bitsy spider, Jesus loves me, God our father, ABCs, if your happy and you know it, and you know most of the words to many other songs too! You have quite the little memory! You really surprise mommy and daddy all the time with how much you know!
You are still quite attached to your "sassy" and "b"! We are really trying to get rid of your pacifier but I don't think you are ready just yet. We told you that if you throw your pacys away you could get a "big hoop" for the front yard but you still want to keep those pacys for now. Guess we shall try again later!
Your favorite foods these days are spagetti, cucumbers, veggie straws, blueberries, goldfish, and fruit snacks!
Well, sweet son I know that your life has REALLY changed lately but I think you are doing quite well with all the adjustments. Mommy and daddy are so blessed to have such a good little boy! We love you lil man!
