Off to Chattanooga!

My mom, Max and I headed to Chattanooga after I got off from work Sunday July 19th! We went to Chattanooga to surprise my sister and her family. My niece Kahla was part of a national softball competition going on there.
Max was a little difficult in the car going. He did NOT want to take a nap in his new carseat. Just too much to see I guess. I was exhausted from working all night so I fell asleep up against his carseat and he finally gave in! We got about an hour and half nap! When we woke up we were over half way there! Wahoo!

We had lots of snacks in the car to keep this little boy occupied! We watched a few baby einsteins too!

We made it to Chattanooga about 3pm! It took us about 6 hrs due to a lot of traffic. My sister Laurie and her family made it about 4 I think. We checked in the hotel and tried to get Max to take a short nap but he refused! He was too excited. Once Laurie and them said they were in their room we headed over. It was so fun to see how excited they were to see that Max and I came! It was the first time they had met Max! SO FUN! We went to eat dinner at Sticky Fingers which by the way was DELICIOUS! We hung out for a short time and then headed to bed! Max of course refused to go to bed. It was quite a crazy time getting him to go to bed. He finally passed out about 11pm! Thank the Lord!

Chattanooga Day 2!

We started our morning BRIGHT and EARLY since Kahla had her first game at 8am. Since Max didn't go to bed till 11pm we had to wake him up. I love this picture of him all stretched out in the bed while Mom and I were getting ready. Doesn't he look like a 4 year old!
We headed to game #1! Lindsey and Brendan were a big help with Max! I don't think I could have done it without them!

A little game action going on!

We lost the first game so we headed back to the hotel for Max to get a good nap. Which by the way he took a 2 and half hour nap. That boy was TIRED! When he woke up we had a little play time. His favorite toy of week was the hotel telephone. We disconnected it and let him play with it the entire time we were there!

We had another game at 3pm so we headed to the fields again. This ball field was right next to the Chattanooga Zoo. It was really nice!
Here is our #1 pitcher Kahla at bat! She did a great job all week! We are so proud of her!

Look at that follow through! You go #3! Go Kahla!
Max had fun roaming around. My sweet niece Lindsey helped with him so I could watch Kahla play some! I told Lindsey I was bringing her home with me! She said OK! Ha! I don't think Laurie would like that too much!
Mom was trying to get Max to wear his hat so she kept putting it on her head! TOO FUNNY! Max never did wear his hat! Ha Ha!
After game #2 we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We went to a yummy Mexican restaurant. Can't remember the name of it. Then we headed to downtown Chattanooga where we walked around. It was really beautiful downtown.
Of course we had to stop and play in the sprinklers for a little while!

Brendan thought it was pretty cool!

We went walking on the pedestrian bridge. It was so nice and cool out! It was a lot of fun! My brother n law Dan carried Max most of the way! Let's just say Max was quite fond of his Uncle Dan! So sweet! Max didn't go to anybody but Dan, my mom, and me most of the time we were there!
Uncle Dan and Max!
Such a beautiful view!
After our late night stroll we called it a night and headed back to get some shut eye! Max did much better this night. He slept in his pack n play all night! WAHOO!

Chattanooga Day 3!

Our first playoff game was at 11am on Tuesday morning. We played in the baseball stadium for the Lady Chattanooga team. It was a really nice stadium! Here is my sweet niece Kahla in the dugout with her team!
Max fell asleep on the way to the stadium and he actually stayed asleep when I put him into the stroller. I was shocked! Of course I woke him up with my big mouth yelling for the team! Oops!
Here is a good picture of the whole field.
They look so cute looking out at the field. #3 is our girl!
And he is AWAKE! He loved sitting in the seats watching the game!
Such a BIG boy sitting there eating a snack!
Cheesing for the camera!
Kahla up to bat!
Kahla running into home! Way to go girl!
Max sat in Grandma or Nana (not sure what Max is calling her...) lap and watched the game for a while. I couldn't believe how much he was interested in it!
It was pretty hot out and Max refused to drink out of his sippy cup. He thought he was a big boy like everyone else and should get to drink out of a cup. So we gave in because he wasn't having any wet diapers and I didn't want to end up in the hospital on an IV drip.
He ate lots of ICE! I know I know....choking hazard! Don't worry we were watching him closely!
Drinking out of the cup like a BIG boy!
So adorable!
Max and mommy!
Getting a little loving on my sweet boy!
We WON the first playoff game! So exciting! We headed back to room to get ready for dinner. We let Lindsey pick and she picked Olive Garden. We ate dinner and then headed to the mall to walk around. They had a really neat play area for kids. Max and Brendan had a lot of fun in it while the girls went shopping for a while.

Max and Brendan driving a car! Let me tell you this picture was hard to get because those boys were BUSY BUSY BUSY!
After the mall we headed back to Laurie's hotel room and hung out for a while. Notice the hotel phone and cell phone. Those boys love to play with phones!
Max went down great again this night...however he woke up at 2am throwing up all over the place. It was quite disgusting having olive garden spaghetti everywhere. Poor baby stayed awake long enough for me to clean him up and then he passed right back out! I must say that is my first dealing with him throwing up and it was not fun since we were out of town with no washing machine but the bathroom tub! Ugh!

Chattanooga Trip Day 4 and 5!

We did not have a game until the afternoon so we headed to Lookout Mountain in the morning. It was quite a scene!
Max did not want to sit still for a picture!
Busy boy as usual!
Grandma with 4 out of the 5 grand babies! She had Lindsey, Max, Kahla, Brendan but missing Trent.
What a view! SO BEAUTIFUL!

It was quite breath taking up on the top of the mountain!
Here is a halfway good shot!
Laurie was not much of a fan of being up so high! I couldn't believe she let Brendan climb up on this rock!
Okay so this picture is very precious because Max would not let Kahla hold him until right at this very moment. Kahla tried so hard to hold him for 3 days and he would cry anytime she tried. But she actually got to hold him for a little while! SO SWEET!
We had to be a tourist and stop at this convenient store!
The store was right next to the Incline Railroad thing. It was crazy how the Train tracks went straight up in the air. You can't really tell from this picture!
After our fun morning we went and ate lunch at Panera and then headed to the 2nd playoff game which we WON by the way! It was an intense game! Kahla pitched a NO HITTER! WOW that is PRETTY AWESOME!
The entire team and families went to eat at Northshore Grill which was very yummy and then we went and walked the pedestrian bridge again. There was a few locals that were playing guitars so we requested some songs and everyone had a good time dancing to the music!
So much fun! Kahla's team is really an awesome group of girls! It was so nice to get to share some time with all of them!
After this we went back to the room and called it a night. We had to get up and head out the next day! So sad!
Sorry no pictures for our Day 5! Thursday morning we got up and got packed then headed to Kahla's 3rd playoff game. Which they WON by the way! It was a VERY intense game. They won at the bottom of the 6th inning. The other team was leading until then! I was a nervous wreck!
Anyways, after the game we headed out! It was SO HARD to say goodbye! Our few days went by so quickly! Wish Chicago was closer so we could see them all more. We got home late afternoon and I was glad to get out of the car. Max pretty much screamed the last hour home! He sad he had enough of the car and carseat! He wanted OUT! It was nice to be home but sad to leave some of our family behind!
