Max is FIVE!!! (yes, this is late....)

Our little guy turned 5 on June 26, 2013
Still our slightly obsessed sports loving sweet little boy!! So full of LIFE and ENERGY!! And such a BIG heart for his family and friends!!
We had his 5 year check-up on July 29th. Max weighed in at 40lbs with his clothes on but no shoes.
His height was 43.5 inches which put him in the 50th percentile for height and weight.
Max is wearing 4 and 5T tops and 4T bottoms.
Shoe size is now about a 12 or 12 1/2 but I think his foot actually measures right on an 11.
He is really starting to show more of a silly side these days. He is just so fun loving and always seems to be in a pretty good mood (unless things are going his way but hey that's most people). He is still my little snuggle bug (which I secretly ADORE and pray he stays this way FOREVER). I love that he is still quick to jump in my lap or just lay cuddled up with me to watch a show or read a book.
He tried out some new organized sports this year. He LOVED basketball and can't wait for it to start back up this fall!!

The other organized sport Max tried out was T-ball! He really really liked it as well but wants to try coach's pitch next year.
His buddy Davis pictured below....
His buddy Cooper below...
and his buddy Noah below!! Max is so BLESSED to have some really great friends to hang out with! He has lots more good friends but these three have really been a bigger part of his life. So glad he has these little guys to enjoy life with!!
Another accomplishment this year....Max is really SWIMMING good without floats!! He jumped off the diving board for the FIRST time and has done it numerous times since. He has really gotten BRAVE and more confident in the water!! He even dives down and gets toys in the shallow end.

Some other FIRSTS....he went on his first cruise ship (nothing fancy it was just a little Dolphin Cruise) while we were in Destin. We also went on our first family lake trip with our friends The Steins and Max had his FIRST tubing experience which he LOVED!!
Things he loves...SPORTS....SPORTS....and more SPORTS..
He loves to read, play Wii games (Mario Sports Mix is his fave game), play IPad (mostly likes You tube to watch angry bird cartoons and different sports being played), loves to play outside if it isn't too hot, loves to role play with Emery, loves board games, and card games. Oh and he has really gotten into Legos and Angry Birds games lately.
He is one SMART little cookie!! He is still into numbers and really surprises me with all the Math he knows already. His NEW thing though that is HUGE is he has learned to READ!!!
Oh yes!!! You heard me my lil guy is READING now!!  We are so so PROUD of him! He started about 3-4 months ago when I decided to get him a beginner set of Bob books. On the way home from the store Max read out loud the first book to me with no problems! I was BLOWN away! I got them thinking we would start working on them so he could learn to read. However, somewhere along the way the boy picked it up on his own. We do read A LOT at home so I think that is how he has memorized so many sight words but somehow he has taught himself how to sound out words. So crazy!! He zoomed through that first set of Bob books like it was nothing and now we are working slowly on a 1st grade set. So wonderful to see how he is progressing in language arts and reading!
He has really gotten more of an imagination. He even has an imaginary friend some days named Shadow. He has gotten big into to telling stories and making up different games and songs. He has progressed in drawing as well. Love all the little things he doodles on our white board. Max is also doing better with his writing skills. So PROUD of him for this because that is not one of his favorite things to do.
Some favorite foods....hotdog buns with ketchup and pickles, mac n cheese with no cheese, tortillas, recently started eating pizza WITH sauce (uh oh he is branching out a little), fried mozzarella sticks, pancakes, biscuits, carrot and cucumbers with ranch, white cheese dip, and fruit (fave being APPLES)
Some LEAST fave foods...he did try a bite of a tyson chicken nugget a few months ago. I thought he was going to gag and throw up but at least he did it. He said maybe he would try again when he was like 10 or so. LOL Other things that are a no go are just cheese by itself, any meat, apple juice, casseroles, potatoes (unless they are french fries or tator tots) and broccoli, and other green veggies.
Max pretty much ADORES his sister these days. They play together so well!! I LOVE it!! I mean they have their moments (but what sis/bro doesn't) but they just have a genuine friendship and love for one other! Melts my heart!

Did I mention he is really starting to show more of a SILLY side....LOL
Max it is so HARD to write in words everything about you. Some days I wish I could just bottle you up and keep all these sweet moments for me to re-live again and again. Mommy and Daddy are oh so PROUD of all you have accomplished this year and we look forward to all the things you are going to accomplish in your future. We are so so BLESSED that God choose us to be your parents and we truly cherish each and every minute with you! Here's to another great year of fun times and blessings!! We love you sweet boy more than WORDS could ever express!

Catching Up...Beginning of Aug till now...

August 1st we had Emery's open house at St. Paul. I didn't really take a lot of pics because I forgot my camera and for whatever reason my iphone pics are just so blurry inside these days. Guess I should have that looked at or maybe add it to my crazy long to do list ;) Anyways, the open house went rather well! It was nice to meet Em's teachers for this year. Ms. Gina and Ms. Shannon. They are both super sweet! So thankful!!
That Friday Aug. 2nd the kids and I decided to take FULL advantage of Em's official last week day before school started. The weather was so beautiful that we decided to make a day of fun at the PARK!!

We played at a park we were introduced to a while back by my friend Tracy. It is in Lakeland off of Canada road. It has these fun water sprayers so the kids were having a BLAST getting drenched! Including me!! LOL

It ended up being ALOT warmer than I thought that day so we were taking a break in the shade for a bit. Em was ready to go back and PLAY!!
We ventured over to the tennis courts that were near by and found a lost tennis ball. Max and Em enjoyed throwing the ball at this concrete wall. I am sure this is used for an actual game of some sorts but I have no idea what....ha!

My friend Candice texted and said they were headed out to Arlington Playground so we hopped in the van and joined them out in Arlington for a while! Good times!! They had their cousin Ava with them so we enjoyed getting to play with her as well!
Like I said it ended up being pretty HOT that day so we didn't stay too long. The kids and I made a stop at the Arlington Farmers Market and grabbed some COLD waters! It was pretty neat to walk around the Arlington town square and shop a little bit. I ventured in to Happy Heart and got to talking (imagine that)...but seriously it was totally GOD directing me into that store that day. I talked with a sweet sweet lady. The owner of the store Mrs. Cox. She was talking about her grandsons and how they went to ECS. She totally calmed my fears about the school in an instant. I left Happy Heart so EXCITED to start our new school in just a few days!! And crazy thing is Mrs. Cox and her fam go to church with us at Faith. Such a SMALL world!! Love to meet some more of our church family and really get to know them! God is so GOOD!

That Saturday Craig and I had planned to work in the yard a little that morning and then head to the pool. However, God had diffrent plans for us as it RAINED most of the morning. So I opted to buckle down and make an attempt at Emery's nap mat while the kids and Craig played upstairs. It really went much better than I anticipated and I think after about 2 hrs I was completely done making nap mat cover, a blanket and monogramming the blanket! Yay!! Em and Max had to try it out during our rest time that day ;)
The following Mon Aug. 5th was Em's FIRST day at St. Paul. You can see more on that on the blog post Em's FIRST week of school. My MIL came over to hang out with Max while I got a few hours of much needed sleep from working Sun night.
On Tues Em had her second day of school. We dropped her off and headed to Ridgelake ECS for their used uniform sale. I got one ls ECS polo and then scored some logo wear on sale. We picked up a dry fit jersey type shirt, the cup and belt. The other gray shirt was actually the "verse" shirt of the year and I grabbed it at open house along with several other things that will be coming in soon!
Afterwards we ran a few other errands and then ended up at Chuckie Cheese per Max's request. I let him have $5 bucks to play on. He made it last and we had a really great time playing games and hanging out together. We loved our Max and Mommy playtime this week!!
On Wed that week the kids had dentist appointments first thing. Since Max is 5 now he got his FIRST set of x-rays! It was crazy seeing all his adult teeth above his baby teeth. So so CRAZY to think he will be losing teeth very soon! Max teared up a little at first he was very nervous of the whole contraption but warmed up quick when he realized it wasn't going to hurt.

Em on the other hand made the ladies WORK for their money that day. She DID NOT want anything to do with getting her teeth cleaned. She cried, screamed, put up a fight and was THAT CHILD. Then when everyone gave up she hopped up on the table and said she was ready. SIGH...She did great for her cleaning but when it was time for Dr. Moore to look at her teeth and put floride on them she pitched another fit. She DID NOT want a guy touching her. She LOST it and it was me holding her down so he could get a quick look and once again we were THAT CHILD...LOL
Thurs of that week Em had school and Max and I met up with our friends Amy and Cooper at Kids play for a little playdate! The boys had a BLAST together and Amy and I enjoyed getting to sit and chat while we watched the boys play!
Friday was a FUN FUN day!! August 9th!! Max and Em got up that morning and wanted to have a pretend game so they got dressed in their gear and were playing away. Then we headed to Nana's pool for a little swimming playdate with our friends Candice, Noah and Maggie! It was a AWESOME day for the pool. We had a great time playing and having a picnic lunch. Then we all headed home for a little rest time before we met back up again for Noah's BIRTHDAY BASH!! We met at the movie's to watch PLANES on opening night and then went to Menchie's for a yummy dessert after!!
Max had his FIRST sleepover at Noah's house! This was Max's first official sleepover at someone's house. He was PUMPED! Candice had asked him if he wanted to a while ago and Max told her yes! However, he said I may just stay for a few hours and then go home. LOL He did GREAT and had NO PROBLEMS what so ever!!
Sweet friends!
Playing a quick game before bed that night. It was already late when we left the yogurt place so they only got a little playtime in that night. However, they got PLENTY in the next day. Candice and I texted back and forth Sat seeing if I needed to come get Max and she kept saying NO that the boys were playing so well together lets just let them play. So I think she brought him home around 1:30 or 2! I would say they had a FABULOUS first sleepover at Noah's!! Thanks Candice and Brian for making his first sleepover so much FUN!!
The following Mon Aug. 12 was open house at ECS and then Tue Aug 13th was Max's FIRST day at ECS. Check out the other blog posts for that info. Both days were a success!
On Wed Aug 14th Max had his 2nd day while Em and I had a Mommy/Emery day! We had lots of fun! We dropped Max off and ran a few errands. Then came home and played with playdough and painted!! Then we headed out again to order cupcakes at Sams for Crawford and Em's bday party coming up really soon!!

That afternoon we picked up Max and headed home to play outside in the GORGEOUS weather!! It was low 80s in Aug!! You can't beat that!!
We got some water balloon fun going on! Em was cracking me up when she would throw them she would cover her ears at first thinking they were going to make a loud noise! Ha!
Max was getting a little basketball action going on with his water balloons! So fun!! We had dinner and then headed to church to worship the KING!
Thursday was a low key day for me as both kids were in school. I got them both dropped off and headed to the gym. Got a good workout in, then came home showered, picked up a little and then headed to the mall! I have been needing to go to Bath and Body Works and stock up on soaps so I did that and ran in a few other stores before heading to get Em. It was a nice little break I have to admit and I got some seriously good smelling soaps for the fall!! I am so READY!! Come on fall!!
Today we met up with our dear friends Candice, Noah, and Maggie for a little zoo fun! I just couldn't resist enjoying another day of this beautiful weather!!
The girls were ALL about having their picture made. Mommy, mommy, take it here....and take it here....so CUTE!!
Fun water breeze!! Wasn't really needed for this day but fun none the less! We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the Teton Trek and then shortly after headed home. My kids were so tired as they have been up since 6:30 am. Getting use to this school schedule is going to be rough for a while....
We came home and I let the kids lay down on the couch. However, they were just ALL over the place and so cranky so I laid with them and in a matter of minutes these two were PASSED OUT!! I know I may pay for it later but I think they needed a little shut eye ;)
So on that note...the BLOG is ALMOST officially caught up!! I just have Max's 5 yr post to finish up and post. Yes...I know it is almost 2 months late....sigh....
