Donuts with Daddy!

Our first little "event" at our new school!

Max and Craig were so excited about their Daddy/Son morning together! Craig stayed home and worked from home until it was time to take Max to school.
Craig dropped Max off at his class and then was sent into the auditorium to have a seat at the place mat with their kids picture on it.

Craig said that all this stuff was sitting out for them to take home. They sat for a few minutes and the kids came in and sang "The Ants Go Marching" song. Craig said Max was so excited he ran to him when he first saw him then quickly went and got back in line to sing with his classmates!

This picture above CRACKS me up! Same picture they took the first day of school when they were trying to get the Valentine sticker pics. Ha! After the kids sang they all sat with their dads and ate a breakfast of donuts and fruit! Craig said it was really awesome and Max and him had a great time together!

I kind of wished I could have gone just to take pics :) but it was more special to be just Daddy and Max! How cute are the ants on the towel and grill spatula using the kids finger prints!! So creative!! We are really LOVING our new school!!!

More Writing!!

Just because Max wants to "practice" all the time....

I picked up this dry erase letter/numbers board and I found WASHABLE dry erase markers!! Yahoo!! I was so excited to find these as all the ones we have were not and were making some serious stains on things!
Max went right to town working hard....see his tongue....that is some serious concentration. LOL

He is doing MUCH better holding his marker thanks to his new teachers Mrs. Dawn and Mrs. Kim!!

And he is doing pretty well writing his numbers and some letters these days!! Can't believe how fast he is catching on to the whole writing thing....he is just growing up TOO FAST!!!

Emery's 2nd Ortho Appointment

This past Thursday Emery and I had her 2nd ortho appointment with Dr. Warner. We ended up having to wait a little over an hour in the waiting room which was NOT FUN with a 17 month old and no toys. She actually pulled everything out of my purse and wallet over and over and over again!

When we finally got back to a room the nurse told me I could take Emery's boot off. She was a HAPPY girl!! She has gotten to where she cries when you try and put it on. She doesn't fight you (thankfully) she just gets upset. Breaks my heart :(
Crazy girl was all over that little bed while we were waiting!!

Then she grabbed my purse and said "buh bye"!! Ha!! When Dr. Warner got to the room she kept telling him "buh bye" too! She was soooo ready to go. Her foot has really been healing these last couple of days so Dr. Warner took a look at it and said she could wear the boot for one more week!! Then no boot for 3 weeks and come back for another check-up! YAY!!! So exciting!! I could really tell that her foot was better because she let Dr. Warner touch it and manipulate it were she would just scream 2 weeks ago when he tried to even touch it.

After her appointment we headed to Cottontails to get Miss Emery some new shoes! I have noticed that her foot has grown a bit lately. When we got there and measured her she was a size 5 and a half on her left foot and almost a 6 on her right!!! DANG her foot has grown almost 2 sizes in 3 months!!! So needless to say we got some size 6 shoes!!

I ended up getting the lace up kind as Emery HATES shoes and socks so she takes the maryjane ones off in a matter of seconds!! Even though those are way cuter I had to get some shoes she would keep on (per Dr. Warner) just so that she would re injure that foot right after we take the boot off.

Max's FIRST time skating!!

Last Wednesday Max and I met up with Amy and Cooper for some Preschool Skate time at Cordova Skating Center! This really is the first time for Max to go skating other than his cousin Linley's Skating birthday party back in Oct. He did end up putting skates on at the end of the party and skated for I think like 10 minutes ;)

Today was a different story! Max and Cooper had a BLAST!!! At first Max had trouble staying up.....
so we got his skates tightened up a bit and he was able to basically "walk" in his skates.

I was totally surprised at how WELL the boys did! Max LOVED it!! I don't think we have found any kind of sport or recreational activity that he hasn't liked! Cooper was loving it too but this was his second time going. Amy said he LOVED it the first time and they have been wanting to come back for a while now.

Max LOVED that there was a giant 8 on the wall. Check out that BIG smile!!

The kids had free skate for about 30 minutes and then the teacher Mr. David had them meet in the middle for some lessons...

Mr. David was very good with the kids! He was teaching them some basic skills for first time skaters.

First skill....the DUCK. You get down and quack like a duck. LOL He said that he was teaching this one so for when they play the limbo game later!

Then he had the kids skate to the back wall. The boys really did pretty good...

of course there were a few wipeouts too.....

Then Mr. David taught them the GORILLA!! He said when you are skating and you feel like you are going to fall...squat and bend your knees a little and put your arms out. That way you will get your balance back. I think the kids really enjoyed all the different animals and funny noises Mr. David was making!!

Sweet little Cooper!!

They learned some other basic things from Mr. David and then had some free skating time again. They turned the fun lights on and had the music going. The boys had fun skating in the dark with the black lights and such. Then came time for LIMBO!!! I got some good video of Max doing this but this was really the only pic. Ha!

The boys skated for almost at hr and half and then they were pretty much ready for a break! They gave the kids a free icee!! Can't beat $3 dollars for 2 hrs of skating and an icee!!

We had to leave shortly after break time to go get Emery from school but they were doing races and more free skating after the break. Definitely a place we will go back again soon! We all had so much fun together!!

Bowling with Noah!!

Candice and I met up yesterday with the kiddos at Bartlett Bowling Lanes!

Maggie and Emery sat for the first part. They colored and ate animal crackers.
We only had a small window of time to play as some league bowlers were coming in so the nice lady put Noah and Max on their own lanes!

The boys LOVED it!! Especially since they didn't have to wait and take turns. LOL Notice Max below...he was throwing the ball from way back because he was worried he would cross the line and get a "F"! Ha! He seriously had a meltdown when I tried to get him to move up closer to the line.

It didn't take the boys any time to bowl two games since they were on their own lane. Noah was so SAD when it was time to go :(

Best Friends!! I love these two little boys!!!

After bowling we headed over to McDonalds to play and eat before they had to leave to go pick up Ella Kate. Such a FUN day with our dear friends!!! We are truly blessed!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Tuesday morning we had to start the day off with some heart shaped waffles ;)

I actually used eggo waffles and just cut them out with a heart shaped cookie cutter.

Emery picked out strawberry!

And Max picked out blueberry!!

Then I tried to get a few pictures of Max before school since today was his Valentine's Party Day! For the most part he just wanted to be silly....

Then Emery joined in and Max didn't want her to!!

He cried about it for a second...then I started tickling him and he got over it quickly!

Emery didn't want to be left out of the picture taking!! LOL

And I got one halfway decent one!! Yay!!

For Max's school lunch he told me he wanted a heart shaped pb sandwich and some chex mix...and some strawberries....and some grapes....oh and some fruit snacks ;)

Emery and I dropped him off and school and then we headed back to the house to have some playtime!! We played and ate some lunch together. Then went and picked Max up. We got there during the tail end of their Valentine's Party. The kids were all eating their yummy Monster Valentine cupcakes made by Ms. Dawn!! They were all acting crazy silly and having a blast!! Max was super excited about coming home and opening up all his Valentine goodies!!

We got home and put Emery down for naptime and Max looked through his Valentines!

He loved everything he got except a few of the 'girly' things. He wanted to know why he got those when he was a boy. LOL I had to explain to him that I am sure the girls didn't LOVE getting the sports Valentines he picked out for them either. Ha!

One of his favorite Valentine's was one that he got with bowling pins on it!

Posing with all his goodies!

Max told me he made the little Valentine owl bag. So cute!!

And here is a cute little Valentine the teachers made for the kids to give their parents!!

Next we got our heart cake going...

Max was such a BIG help!!

Then we went and had a little restime while the cake was baking.

While the cake was finishing cooling Max and Emery made some little Valentines. Max LOVED using all the puffy heart stickers and Emery just wanted to run around with the crayons!!

Max even practiced writing some letter Hs!

Then came time to icing the cake and Max's favorite part....the SPRINKLES!!!!

Max did a great job spreading the sprinkles around!! We made the cake to take to Nana and Pawpaw's for dinner!

Then I had the kids wait till Daddy got home to open their Valentine's from us!

Max was SO EXCITED about getting his bee game. He has been wanting that game ever since he played it at his Noah's house!

Emery was more excited about the candy ;)

We headed over to Nana and Pawpaw's soon after the kids got their gifts. Max wanted to take his game with him. I of course FORGOT the camera so I didn't get any pictures of the kids over there. BOO!

When we got home the kids wanted to play with Emery's new toy....a Melissa and Doug treat tower. Max and Emery both played with it for a while. Max loved matching up all the shapes and Emery just loved dumping them out and putting them back in over and over.

This pic was taken the next morning...these stuffed animals are Valentine treats from Nana and Pawpaw! My mom found them a while back. Actually a portion of the purchase of these goes back to St. Jude!

They are so stinking cute and the kids love them! Max actually slept with his that night and Emery woke up first thing the next moring wanting to play with hers! Thanks Nana and Pawpaw!! Craig and I didn't exchange gifts. I did give him a card that had a surprise in it...dinner date for Thursday night. He was so excited about it!! Valentine's ended up being a pretty good day!! Hope yours was as well! We are truly blessed!!!
