On Wednesday (Oct. 10th) of fall break we got up and headed to the doctor for the kids recheck appointments with Dr. Christian.
I have to start out by saying this was a much much better day!! Kids were being very good and minding me for once.
When we got back to see Dr. C she quickly noticed that Emery's lungs were sounding bad again :( Crackles, rales and rhochi heard in a child's lungs in NEVER good. So Dr. C had Emery's finger pricked to check her blood counts. Emery was fine during the entire thing. She just watched the nurse do her thing. Then when the nurse put the band aid on Emery LOST it!! She wanted to put the band aid on herself....welcome to the world of a VERY INDEPENDENT 2 year old.... Max looked pretty good other than some sinus stuff and a right ear infection. So both of them got put on antibiotics again....Suprax here we go....
Dr. C sent us straight to Methodist Germantown for a repeat chest x-ray. Ugh...so ready for this to be over!! And so is Ms. Emery!! She was NOT happy about having to go the x-ray place :(
Max on the other hand...he was a happy boy!!
Emery did so good getting her chest x-ray. They did put her back in the "contraption thing" and she did scream a little but all in all a great job!! Max was super too!! We were in and out in about an hr. We headed to Target to get a treat for both kids! Emery picked out a "pincess" baby and Max picked out a ping pong Halloween game! Afterwards we had to drive to 2 different Walgreens to get the antibiotics for the kids. So most of our morning was spent doing Doctor visits and then running around town.
We had a lot of fun with the game all day!!
Emery was LOVING on her new baby!!
Grabbed a few other fun things while we were at Target. Dr. C told me to try and keep the kids in the rest of the break so that they could just get better! So that mean no church, no play dates, NO FUN outside the home anyways....
Em took a nice long nap....poor baby was wheezing and not feeling good :( During her nap Dr. C called with chest x-ray results. She said it didn't look horrible but she was definitely starting up with the bronchitis/pneumonia again. So she wanted me to do some chest PT and come back for a recheck on Friday morning. Dr. C said she was a little worried since Emery has been on antibiotics off and on for 3 months now trying to get rid of this mess. Ugh...not what a Momma wants to hear....the doc a little worried....
Em woke up from nap happy happy!! And Max had some much needed rest and was in a good mood too! They were excited to play together. I loved watching them run around and playing "house" together. Max said "Emery, you are the mommy and I am the daddy!"
He told Emery that mommies carry the diaper bag and daddies push the baby around. Ha!!
Then Max proceeded to tell Emery that the baby had a stinky!
They spent a good hour playing with different babies. Taking them shopping, feeding them, changing their diapers. It was so cute!! The cutest part was the two of them talking about their baby and how they were taking care of them. Just a precious moment watching them interact so well together!! Totally made up for our awful day yesterday!
For dinner Max wanted to have pancakes!! I had picked this up a few weeks prior so we decided to make Halloween pancakes for dinner!!
I made pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Max doesn't eat eggs or sausage so I cut up apple too. We made fun shapes out of the apples so we could make funny pumpkin faces!! Made for a fun dinner that was gobbled up by two little kids!!
After dinner we played with our new thing of play dough!! Another thing I picked up at Target. Yes...I spent way to much money on junk but if we have to stay cooped up inside we are going to have FUN!!
This is the cutest little set. The kids and I had a blast making all kinds of fun candies together!!
The kids favorite part was mixing all the colors!! I don't usually let them mix them (yes I am a little OCD) but I figured what the heck. Go for it!! It was a lot of FUN!
Bath time fun came next!! Max was pretending to be Santa!! He kept saying "Ho Ho Ho!!" So cute!!
So basically both my kiddos are sick but we are trying to not think about it and ENJOY our fall break!!!
