A Meaningful Christmas Days 8,9, and 10

Day 8

This picture cracks me up! The kids are loving counting down each day!! We do it at night before the devotional. Max will say "Mommy is today 8 day?" Ha! He gets it a little mixed up but he understands that it is Dec. 8th and there are fewer days till Christmas! So exciting!
Tonight's concept was: Mary is Chosen.

What a WONDERFUL lesson to teach to your child. That God specifically chose Max, Emery, Me, and Daddy to be together as a family.

Since the lesson was all about how God sent the angel Gabriel down to tell Mary she was going to be the mother of baby Jesus. We got out our little people Nativity scene to help Max visualize all the parts of the story.

Then to APPLY the concept we were to draw a picture of your family. I guided Max's hand with the blue crayon (of course) and we drew our little family.

Then as we were finishing up my heart slightly melted....Max said "Mommy, I want to draw "my Noah's" family. He was chosen as part of his special family too and I want to draw him, his mommy, daddy, and his brother and sisters." I mean seriously I am pretty sure that was just about one of the sweetest things my little boy has said. And just for him to think of others made it even sweeter....

Day 9

and Day 10

So.. we had our Sunday school Christmas Party (no kids) Friday night (Dec. 9) so we missed out on doing the ornament. The kids were suppose to spend the night with my in-laws but we ended up being picked them up at 9. We didn't realize Max was getting sick and Emery just kept crying...poor babies just wanted to be with Mommy and Daddy. Can you say R-O-T-T-E-N! LOL

Day 9 concept: Trusting God (I totally picked the wrong ornament as the message was talking about the bible...oops! Suppose to be a picture of Mary holding Jesus here...totally makes sense now....)
Max was not a very good listener to the Day 9 concept as he was more focused on the fact that it was "10 day" and not "9 day"! Ha! So we really didn't learn much with this day.....

Onto "10 Day"....our concept Immanuel

Immanuel means God with us!
So to help apply the concept we wrote the word GOD on Max's hand to remind him that God will ALWAYS be with you everywhere you go!

Max even told Emery all about it! He wanted to show her that GOD was on his hand and that he was ALWAYS with him no matter what! It was quite precious seeing Max show his sister what he was learning tonight!

Then Max wanted to color a picture for God!

And Emery wanted to too!

So I figured why not put GOD on the picture to help them visualize the lesson even more! Notice the mountains of drool coming out of this girls mouth! It even made it on her picture! LOL

Max was so happy about his beautiful picture for GOD!
