We met up at the Lawsons house on Easter at 1pm. We started out with a picture of all the grandkids for Mrs. Lawson. She wanted one of all the kiddos before lunch in case they all got messy ;) We took quite a few pics but I think this one was by far my fave!! They are all getting so BIG!!
Lunch time!! Max branched out this year and added one thing to his plate. This year he had rolls and corn!! Whoop whoop! Emery ate some ham, corn, mac n cheese, and roll.
The kids played for a minute and then Grandmother said "Who wants CAKE!!"
The kids were ALL about some Easter bunny cake with candy toppings!!
Emery wasn't so sure about the old fashioned candy eggs!! Can't believe I found a candy she doesn't like!!
Time to HUNT eggs!! Oh the many faces Em makes....
It was a little damp but the sun had come out so we opted to do our hunt outside!! 7 kids running around inside for an egg hunt would have been a little chaotic ;)
Emery was running around saying "I got one!" and "Oh, I see one!!"
Then she got very concerned because she only had 5 and the were suppose to get 12!!

Loving that the spring flowers are all popping up!! We are so ready for SPRING to get here!! Not that we have had a bad winter...just ready for warmer weather and all the FUN that goes along with it!!

Emery on the other hand was disappointed she didn't get any chocolate like everyone else. LOL
She did switch out some of her fruity candy for some chocolate with her cousins!! So sweet of them to trade with her ;)
We came back inside to do a little food craft. I found on fb/pintrest a recipe to make Resurrection eggs with crescent rolls, marshmallows, butter, cinnamon and sugar.
Linley and Laney had done it before so they helped us out. And they were good sports to not spoil the surprise at the end.
Before we started we talked about the Easter story and we talked about Jesus's tomb. All the kids were really getting into it and participating!!
So they each took a crescent roll and laid it out on their plate which represented Jesus tomb. Then they took a marshmallow which represented Jesus. They rolled the marshmallow in butter and then cinnamon and sugar which represented Jesus's body being anointed with spices. Then you roll the crescent roll around the marshmallow and squeeze it shut making sure not to leave any open holes.

You cook them based on the directions on the crescent roll.
Then you get to see the magic!! Jesus has RISEN!! The kids were surprised to see that the marshmallow (Jesus) had disappeared!
Such a cute little food craft to do with the kiddos and a great way to integrate the Easter story!! They loved it and they even enjoyed eating it!
