A Sweet Baby Gift!

Our dear friend Beth came by for a visit today and brought Miss Emery some gifts and even a little something for Max!
Just thought this card was too cute! I just had to take a picture of it!
First gift was a little carter's 3-6 month outfit! So cute! Has a dress, long sleeve onesie, and leggings! I just love the pinks and greens together!

The second gift was my FAVORITE!!! A beautiful smocked dress, a sweet little bib with her monogram and a darling little PINK sweater with her monogram!

Close up of the precious little sweater! I know Miss Emery will get lots of use out of this!!!

How cute is this bib!! I think I am going to take Max to build a bear and let him make Emery her first teddy bear and put this bib on it! So cute!!!

And of course this smocked dress is just precious! It is a 9 month size so she will be able to wear it next spring and into the summer!! I know she will look adorable in it!

And how nice of Beth to bring Max a book! He loves books and "brown mater"!!! He actually took a nap with this book today!

Thanks Beth for the sweet gifts you brought by today and for the visit! We enjoyed getting to see you! Hope to see you again real soon! Love you!

34 weeks!

Well, we officially made it to 34 weeks! God is so GOOD! I went to my OB appointment this past Wednesday and got nothing but good news! Everything looks good and I am OFF BEDREST! Wahoo!!! Well....Dr. Williams did tell me to take it easy and try and keep Emery in there for at least another 3 weeks! I think I can do it!!!
I actually turned 34 weeks this past Friday and my dear friend Candice baked me 34 of her most delicious cookies!! They were awesome! Thanks Candice you were so sweet to celebrate with me on Friday!!!

This post is so late because I have been trying to get out some and get Emery a few things, spend time with my lil boy Max, hang out with my hubby, visit with the family, clean the house, get the nursery in order, paint the nursery, and on and on and on (don't worry I am resting in between all these things....I will remember to follow OB orders...ha!)

These two pictures are two more surprise packages I got in the mail this week! Thank you so much Natalie and Brad and Mr. and Mrs. Turner! You guys are so sweet to send baby Emery some goodies!! I was so worried I wasn't going to have any clothes for her and now I am starting to get her closet filled up!!! Thank you again! I know Emery is going to love all her stuff!! Love you guys and hope to see you very soon!!

So on a funny note this past week....we got the package with the teddy bear on Tuesday and I was telling Max that this sweet little teddy bear was for his baby sister Emery....I think he misunderstood and thought IT WAS EMERY!! HA! He has been carrying this baby bear around since we got it! So CUTE! He will pick her up and cuddle her and make sweet noises to her. He has slept with her, read to her, taught her how to play basketball, eaten with her, and much more! He just loves this little bear! Can't wait to see how he is with Emery! I think he going to be such a AWESOME BIG BROTHER!!!

So, getting off bedrest has been such a great blessing! I have really enjoyed these past few days getting to do all the things I have missed these past 11 weeks! One of my favorite things I have done is been able to pick Max up and just love on him, give him a bath, and just be able to play, play, play with him! I am truly trying to treasure these last few days with Max being our only child! I know that very soon our life is going to change and I want Max to know how special he is and will always be!
I have also enjoyed going to church, cooking dinner, cleaning (I know I am very weird), getting the nursery in order(I will post more on the nursery later).....really I have just enjoyed everything except the HEAT! I can honestly say that being 34 weeks prego in this heat is miserable! But I am so THANKFUL and BLESSED to be 34 weeks!!

Just the CUTEST thing ever!

Just thought these pictures were too precious not to post!! Max came out of the bath a few nights ago with his doggie towel on his head just a barking! It was so adorable. I got it on video but can't figure out how to work video on this laptop of my brothers...oh well....another time!
It is crazy how sometimes he still looks like a baby to me! I just want to eat him up!!!

These next few pics were right before naptime on Sunday! Max wanted to wrap Memphis up for his naptime! So sweet! I have been teaching Max about swaddling the baby "aka Memphis" since we don't have a babydoll!

I really think Max is going to be such a GREAT big brother. He wanted to wrap Memphis up and let him read with him and Daddy! So sweet! I just love these pictures, they just melt my heart!
Sometimes.....it just the little things....

Another sweet Surprise!

Got another package this past week from another one of my best friends Nashea! She sent a
0-3 month outfit and a 6-12 month outfit! So thankful for you Nashea!! You don't know how much it means for you to send something for baby Emery! It is really sweet that all my friends are filling up her closet since I haven't been able to really buy her anything!! Thanks again Nashea! I love you and miss you tons!!!

We have a Double Stroller!!

We want to send a HUGE THANKS out to Grandma Helen and Grandpa Mickey for sending us this AWESOME double stroller! We got it yesterday in the mail and Max and I are already having a GREAT time with it!

Max wanted us to ride him all around the house in it along with his buddy "Memphis" a.k.a. the tiger! I thought that was too cute!

The only thing is the stroller is a 60/40 split so that one side is big enough for the carseat to go into....well....Max thinks that is HIS side! Uh oh! I see a little fight going on in the near future....

I showed Max how the tray tables pop up and down and he thought that was GREAT fun! I think we played around with the stroller for almost an hour or more!

I tried to get him to switch seats with Memphis but he kept saying "NO, this my seat" and "that Memphis seat"....yikes.... I told him that the stroller was for Max and baby sister Emery and he told me "NO, for Max and Memphis....ha! Like I said I think we may have some t-r-o-u-b-l-e in the near future!

Well, I got the carseat down today (yes, I know I am not suppose to be lifting anything...yada yada yada) and it fits in like a charm!

I have done quite a bit of research on the double strollers (seeing as how I have been on bedrest for 10 weeks now) and I could not find one that would fit my peg perego infant carseat except of course the peg perego aria twin stroller 60/40! UGH! I was a little disappointed at first because it doesn't have the BEST reviews. As far as safety it is TOP NOTCH....just didn't get good reviews on some of the quality issues but I think that is because it is a light weight double stroller! It only weighs 21lbs where most of the others are 40lbs! So needless to say the materials are more light weight and I guess don't hold up as good long term.

After playing with it and putting the infant car seat in though I LOVE IT! It moves very smooth and it actually fits through a normal doorway! It folds up very easy and is able to sit up on its own so you don't have to lay it down once you fold it up! Some other great features are all the materials come off and are washable (wahoo!), both seats lay completely down, a large storage basket, and I have a cup holder (who knew that could be so exciting! lol)!

I wasn't sure if it was going to match my carseat since it was made in 2008 and they don't make this actual carseat anymore. The stroller is a 2010 model but it matches perfect! Looks very stylish I must say! I never got a big stroller with Max, I only had the snap and go and an umbrella stroller so this stroller seems HUGE in comparison but I am sure I am going to get use to it rather quickly! Thanks again Grandma Helen and Grandpa Mickey! This was a GREAT and much needed baby gift!!! Can't wait to load up my two babies and try it out!!

Lots to Do!!

Well, we have had Emery's furniture for a few weeks now! We purchased the furniture from Babytime just a few weeks before I went on bedrest! Glad we took care of that early!!!
We got the crib, dresser/changing combo, and 5 drawer dresser! We picked out the licorice finish which looks really black here but it does have a brownish tint too. I just love darker wood so couldn't seem to buy white even though that seems to be the color of choice for little girls! The crib is a convertable crib too so basically this is her furniture FOREVER!!!
I love the dresser/changing combo because it has lots of drawers to store all the little bitty girly accessories I will be buying very soon!!! Only about 1 week left of bedrest so I will be sure to start filling these up!! YEA!
Here is the bedding I picked out while on bedrest! I found this cute bedding at Pottery Barn Kids! I never would have guessed I would pick out something with so much PINK!

Here is a close up of the bedding. It is very simple which I love about it! It has a tad of green in it too so I am going to run with that and paint the walls green! We are very LUCKY because my mom found the bumper, crib skirt, and crib sheet in a bundle at the Pottery Barn Outlet! So instead of paying $129 plus tax and shipping we only had to pay $79 bucks! Wahoo!
I ordered the quilt, small pillow and sham (with her name embroidered on it of course), and a few other things online at PB kids yesterday! Can't wait to be able to start getting her room together! I must say I have LOTS TO DO!!! The list of things to do before Emery gets here is QUITE LONG!!! I haven't gotten to shop (other than online) in a few months so I can't wait to go out and there and get sweet little things for Emery! Plus I have no idea what I am going to hang on the walls yet either....AHHHHH so much to do......so much to do......

A Nice Surprise!

I have to say that getting this surprise package from one of my best friends Nicole really brightened my day! I just LOVE the card she picked out!! Just too sweet....
Things You'll Soon Discover With Your New Baby Girl!
That raising your own princess beats any fairytale.
That a lot of great big people can be wrapped around one tiny finger.
That a toothless smile can light up the world like instant sunshine.
That watching her sleep is (sometimes) more satisfying than finding sleep yourself.
And most of all ....that there's no greater joy than having a little girl to love.

She sent a box full of PINK FUN! She sent a newborn, 3-6month, and 6-12month outfit and of course lots of PINK toys too! It was so much fun growing through all the little goodies for Miss Emery! We are so blessed! Thank you again Nicole! You are such a great friend! I don't think you will ever know how much you mean to me! I love you and hope we can see each other VERY soon!

Max is 2

My sweet little Max is 2 years old....oh where oh where did the last two years go?!
Max, you are ALL boy! Daddy and I have loved these past 2 years with you and pray for many more! You are really starting to show your personality and you are truly a FUN little boy!
You had your 2 yr checkup with the MD a few weeks ago and you were hysterical because you were scared you were going to get shots! Poor baby!! Those Rocephin shots really traumatized you!
Your Stats
27lbs and 10oz (50%)
36.5inches (95%)
You are wearing 2Tshirts, 12-18month shorts, size 8 shoes, and size 4 diapers!
You recently got tubes and you are not too fond of having to wear ear plugs at bathtime and pooltime! But I have to say you are such a GOOD boy about it!
You are talking ALL the time now that you can hear better! You repeat EVERYTHING we say! Some of our favorites things you say these days..."oookay" (you say this after everything and I just love the way you say it. I need to record it!), "i wuv you, ______(insert whatever or whoever he is talking to), "i like this", and "oooooo this is nummy"!
You love to sing! You can sing some of your abcs, Jesus loves me, He's got the whole world in his hands, Your happy and you know it, and one of your favorites right now Shoo fly! We had a fly in the house and taught you this song. You know most of the words and walk around singing it all the time! We love hearing you say "I peel", "I peel", "I peel like a morning tar"! It is just so precious!

You LOVE to play with doors and keys! You insist that "my do it" all the time! I can't believe how much you are already showing your independence!

You can count from 1 to 10! The first time I heard you do this was when you woke up one morning and you were counting all the trucks on your sheets! I had no idea that you knew how to do this! You continue to amaze your Daddy and me all the time!

You are a caring, loving, and sensitive little boy! We love that you don't hesitate to give us kisses and hugs! You have become very fond of "my baby emmie" and love to touch my belly and talk to her. However, I am not exactly sure that you truly understand that your baby sister is really in my belly. You tell us sometimes that baby is in your belly or daddy's! LOL!

You are really enjoying learning your colors! You know blue, green, red, pink, yellow, orange, white, and brown! You get purple, black, and brown mixed up! Most of the time you call purple and black, "brown"!

As you say "I wuv trucks!!" You want to play with them all the time. I have to say that other than being outside with daddy you love some truck time!

You love your bed! You go to bed about 8:30pm and wake around 7 to 7:30am. You still take a great 2hr or more nap in the afternoon! You usually go down between 1 and 2pm!

You LOVE books! We keep buying you more books because you have memorized most of the ones you have! When we ask you what books you want to read you pick them out and tell us what the name of them are! You can even sit and read some of them by memory! You are such a SMART little boy!

Max, Daddy and I love that you want us to read to you all the time! We really cherish our bedtime routine! You want Daddy and me to read to you and say your prayers with you every night! You are starting to repeat your bedtime prayers which is just so sweet! We are just amazed by you daily and we are so happy that you love the Lord!

You got this weedeater as a birthday present from Nana and Pawpaw....and let me just tell you....you LOVE this thing! You have played with it everyday since you got it and you like to take it with you everywhere you go! I think you may love "my weedeater" almost as much as you love your "b" (blankie) and "sassy" (pacifier)!

You love to be outside even if it is so HOT you can't breath! You love to wear just your diaper these days too! Lately after I take your pajamas off in the morning it takes me quite some time to get you dressed! You like to run away from me and tell me "NO!" You are also wanting to put your clothes on yourself.....you say "me do it"! You can put your crocs on by yourself but have not been too successful with your shirt and shorts without a little help!

You love WATER! You will jump off the side of the pool and swim to whoever is in the pool with you! You are a little water baby! You are so good about wearing your lifejacket! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you that you don't fight us to put it on! However, you DO NOT like to be squirted or sprayed with water and you despise SHOWERS! When Daddy gives you a bath at night you always say "no showwer no"! You and Daddy yell this throughout bathtime! It is quite funny to sit and listen to you both!

Another one of your LOVEs is your new F150 truck Daddy and Mommy got you for your birthday! You love to sit in it and pretend to drive. You put the keys in and out and when you put your foot on the gas and it moves you say "it works!" You always have such a BIG smile on your face while in your truck! Everytime you leave your truck you make sure to LOCK it up so no one else can get "max's truck"! Mommy and Daddy are so happy you love your truck!

You have gotten very good at sharing these days! I am so PROUD of you for that! You make sure to tell everyone "max's turn" and then "____'s(whoever you are playing with) turn!

As for foods...your favorites are blueberries, raisins, spaghetti, chicken fried rice, most breakfast foods (waffles, cereal bars, pancakes, biscuits, etc), pretzels, green olives, cucumbers, and pickles! You are a VERY PICKY eater....not sure where you get that from....ha ha LOL
All in all you are such a wonderful gift to us! Mommy and Daddy are so proud to call your our son! We have really enjoyed each day watching you grow! We look forward to making many more memories with you in the future! We LOVE you so much sweet boy!!!

32 weeks!

32 WEEKS! I cannot believe it! I am so blessed to have GOD in complete control of this pregnancy! There is no way I would have made it this far without him! GOD IS SO GOOD!

As for being 32 weeks....I am not feeling too bad. The only thing I have that I did not have with my first pregnancy is heartburn! Ugh and let me tell you I feel for all of you out there with this on a normal basis. Heartburn is TERRIBLE! I really can't complain about anything else. Have had plenty of time (with bedrest) to lay around and daydream about my little girl. I lay here feeling her move and just think I will be holding this precious little angel before I know it! Such a wonderful gift to think about! Holding your baby girl for the FIRST time!

Emery is an active little thing and she has hiccups ALL the time! Went to the OB this past Wednesday for my checkup and everything looked GREAT! Emery is weighing in at 4lbs so that puts her right in the 50%. That was a hugh relief! I love knowing that she is continually growing!! The checkup was bittersweet though. This was my last ultrasound of Emery! She didn't want to cooperate either so no sweet little pictures! So sad! She is breech right now so her legs were covering her face and she would not budge to look at us! Silly little girl!! Guess she is stubborn like her momma! LOL!
Max is doing great! He is loving his school times on Mondays and Thursdays! He is pretty much tired of going somewhere everyday, so I am glad that I will be off bedrest VERY SOON! My neighbor and friend Jennifer watches him on Tuesdays and my mother-n-law Susie watches Max on Wednesdays. He loves both of them but he is just getting upset to leave the house every morning. It breaks my heart! I wish I didn't have to send him off somewhere everyday! Fridays are the only day I have to get help so I haven't been very good at asking for help those days. I just try and take it really easy with him. It is nice for Max to be able to stay home and play with his momma and his toys! Shhhhh....don't tell the doctors....ha ha!

I haven't really posted anything about the pregnancy and stuff since about 28 weeks. I want to send a shout out to all that have been helping these past 4 weeks. We have received some yummy meals from Eric and Rachael (friends from our church), Cal and Wendy (friends from our church), and from Sarah (friend from St. Jude)! We also had our marriage mentor group from Faith all come and bring dinner and hang out (Julie and Jack, Autumn and Robert, and Katheryn and Darryl). Thanks to all of you! We enjoyed seeing you and really appreciate you thinking of us during this time! We of course also got fed a lot by our family that is here too!! And I cannot forget to thank all those helping with Max...Amy, Jennifer, Allison, Sarah, First Assembly (max's school) and of course family! We are truly blessed to have so much support from family and friends! Don't know what we would do without all of it!

Really the only stress we have been dealing with is that our shower has been leaking! Our shower backs up to Emery's closet so needless to say we cannot do ANYTHING in the nursery till we get our shower fixed! BOO! There is mold and mildew growing on the sheetrock and carpet! TOTALLY GROSS!!! So we have had a fan in the shower for almost a week now! We are trying to dry it out really well so they can fix the shower this week. Then it will be onto repairing sheetrock and figuring out if we need to rip the carpet out or just get a really good cleaning job done! After all that is done we will hopefully be able to start on the nursery! So I am secretly hopeing that all of this will be done by the time I am 34 weeks so I can help paint and start getting things for sweet little Emery!!
