Max's FIRST Memphis Tiger Football Game!!

Max and Daddy went to their FIRST Memphis Tiger Football game together today!!

Let me tell you both boys were PUMPED!! Max was a little confused at first because he thought he was going to a basketball game. But he quickly got excited when we gave him a football to take to the game and explained what he was going to see!
I stayed home with lil bit as she hasn't been too well lately. Craig and Max picked up Granddaddy to take to the game hence the pic of them below :)

The Memphis Tiger!!

In the words of Daddy...."we had a GREAT time!!"

Craig told me Max got a little restless towards the end but the bag of snacks helped out!!

Front row seats!!!

Uncle Gregg was there too!

Here is a funny...Max fell asleep on the way home and when I woke him up I asked him how was the game. He groggily said "The red team won :( I didn't want the red team to win!" Memphis (blue team) and SMU (red team). Max's favorite color is blue and he wants the blue team to win ALL the time!!
They definitely had a great time even if good ole BLUE didn't win the game!!

Oh yes HE did!!

This past Tuesday I had ONS class all day and came home to a sick little girl :( She started having fever during the day and lots and lots of ear drainage...BOO! So needless to say we didn't go to my parents house for our usual Tuesday nights (only because Craig has class on these nights)!! We decided to go and pick up some Jim and Nicks and eat out on our new deck (well it is a few months old but I really haven't posted anything about it).

Anyways...as we were finishing up I went inside to grab some wet paper towels to clean up hands and faces. I came out to find Max "painting" Emery's face with Ranch dressing (at least that is what he told me he was doing)!! LOL
She thought is was hilarious at first.... as did Max!! Check out her face below...this girl has got some faces....let me tell you....

Pausing from the "painting" to feed Max some of her last bites. This is Emery's NEW thing. She LOVES to share her food with you. It is so cute to watch her because she leans in to give it to you with her mouth wide open like she is showing you what you need to do!!

But she quickly got annoyed with her bubba!

And as he was smearing the last bit of "paint" on her she was getting very upset :( The funny thing is she wasn't crying because of what Max was doing to her, she was crying because some of the Ranch dressing got in her mouth and she didn't like it!! She started crying and telling us uh-uh!! LOL

We quickly wrapped up dinner and went inside for baths. This fussy little girl became a HAPPY little girl as she loves having some bathtime fun with her big brother!!! They actually play really well together in the bath. Sweet times with my babies!!

Lets go VOLS!!

TN vs Gators game was this past Saturday...we showed up to watch the game at my parents house...not sure our team showed up until the second half ;( but at least they tried!! On another note how presh is my lil boy in his Volunteers Football Jersey!!!

We found this jersey for Max at Target a few weeks ago. He was beyond thrilled because #1 it was his FIRST jersey and #2 it had his favorite number 8 on it!! He thought it was a basketball jersey and he keeps calling it that but who cares if he LOVES it...right!?
Emery had a good time listening to all of us hoop and holler!! She was clapping right along with us when anything good happened!!

I tried to get a pic of the kiddos together in their game day attire but had NO luck!! This was as good as I could get...fighting over the IPad!! LOL

Didn't have much luck getting one of the three of us either....sigh....

Emery continued standing, balancing, and stepping all day!! Ha ha!! Love how she just concentrates so hard!! My sweet lil girl!! Goodness, I just love her to pieces!!

We had such a FUN time hanging out with Nana and Pawpaw and eating some yummy game day food even if we didn't get at TN win on the board!! It's all about the time together anyways!!

Standing and Stepping!!

Last week Emery started to stand up by herself every now and then. This past Saturday she figured out that she could do it over and over...

and over!! She actually took a few steps too!!
I am not kidding when I tell you she did this ALL day

over and over and over again!

And she would stand and wait for everyone to look at her and CLAP!! Ha!!

Love the above pic...she is concentrating so hard to keep her balance!!

It won't be long and she will be walking around everywhere!!!

Such a BIG girl!! My oh my how the time is flying by....

Catching up!

In the past few weeks we have been really busy, busy busy!!

Max has school on Mondays and Wednesdays. On Mondays I usually run a few errands after we drop Max off and then head home for lunch and naptime for both Emery and Me!! Then the rest of the day is pretty low key as I am usually going on about 1 and half to 2 hrs of sleep in over 24hrs...
On Tuesday during the day (well for last week and this week) I have been in a ONS chemo class all day so my mother n law has been taking great care of the kiddos!! So glad to be DONE with that class!! On Tuesday nights Craig has class so we head over to my parents to eat dinner (usually)Although these past few weeks we haven't because my dad was sick and then this week Emery was sick. Ugh! No FUN! Emery is struggling with another ear infection. This one seems to be pretty bad as we have had some bleeding with it. (Not going to lie...that kind of freaked me out a bit...but she is fine) I am so blessed we have tubes because I am pretty sure she would be in some severe pain with as much drainage is coming out :(

On Wednesday during the day I try and do the housework and odd and ends that I can't get done with both kids in tow. I honestly have no idea how I thought just one kid was hard. LOL On Wednesday nights Craig and I started a Financial class at church called Crown Ministries! See the above book. We are hoping to learn A LOT!! We actually started 2 weeks ago so tonight was the third class. I had to miss tonight since Emery is sick but Craig and Max went to church and learned some good lessons!!! We are praying that we get on the road to being debt free and staying that way forever!!!

Max's little class on Wednesday nights is called God's Movers and Shakers! It is for the 3 and 4 yr olds at our church Faith Baptist. The curriculum this year is following this ABC Bible Verses book. We picked one up and Max is obsessed with it!! We are reading it every night almost and he likes to read it to us. We love how he teaches us the things he learns in class!! The most important one he keeps telling us..."you have to be quiet while I read...willy willy quiet!!" LOL

On Thursday mornings I started going to the MOMS bible study at Bellevue with the most amazing female speaker Jean Stockdale!! I just LOVE her!! I started this class 2 weeks ago and I have already learned a ton!! I am so blessed that my friend Brandy invited me to go with her. I can already tell I am going to get a lot out of this class. And I mean A LOT!!!

Fridays are the ONLY day (well for last week and this week) we don't have anything going on so we got to enjoy some fun park time with our friends from our Sunday school class!!! It was so beautiful last Friday. We met up at Lakeland park and then all ate a picnic lunch together. We had a great time until some young boy scared Max and Davis and then Max was ready to leave. I still have no idea what the boy did but it was enough to make him want to leave his friends :( And he talked about the mean scary boy most of the way home!!

Last Saturday we went to the Germantown Festival. It was a ton of fun!! Max had a BLAST playing all the festival games. Too bad I forgot my camera!! BOO! Well, they had a Grizzlies table set up with a basketball game. We had to stop on the way in and the way out!! LOL Max got this sweat band that he LOVES to wear!! So funny!!

Sometimes he just makes me LAUGH!!!

Oh...and knock on wood but Max is starting to be so much sweeter to Emery!! Thank goodness for that because I was really starting to get a little stressed about the way he was treating her!!

I think I am figuring out that he really just wants her to PLAY with him. So...basically we have been keeping busy so I haven't been keeping up with the blog like I would like. I have good intentions but it seems like most nights I am doing other things and then the weekend rolls around and I have to work so things get pushed off till next week....then the posts build up and the vicious cycle continues.... So with that being said...look for many more posts to come in the next few days...all of them being late of course!!

Emery is ONE!

Our sweet little princess is ONE!! My oh my how this year has flown by! What a fun filled year of sweet memories we have and we are looking forward to many many more!

Emery you are weighing 19lbs 13 oz (25th %) and are about 30inches (75%).

You are wearing 12 month stuff mostly but can still wear some 9 month separates and 9 month smocked/dressy stuff.

You are wearing a size 3 shoe and a size 3 diaper!

You are really starting to look and act like a BIG girl! You are just so smart! You pick on things pretty quickly by just mimicking our actions or words. You are saying a lot of words these days like mama (this is rare but you are saying it..ha ha), dada, bubba, tinky (aka stinky), tank too (thank you), nana, uh oh, yea, all da (all done), uh-uh while shaking your head no, and icky icky icky (tickle, tickle, tickle) while you try to tickle us or yourself which is so adorable! You are also doing sign language for more and all done.

You still LOVE to eat!! Some of your favorites are chicken, turkey, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, cereal, goldfish, veggie straws, broccoli, bread, cheese (a new favorite), graham crackers, any crackers really....and on and on...you really love most foods. Some things you don't like are corn, rice, spaghetti, and green beans. You will throw things off your tray or say uh-uh when we try to give it to you. You have 7 teeth. 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. I think you are working on more teeth as you are drooling a lot these days...

You are doing so WELL with Milk! You are still spitting up/throwing up every now and then so we are going to watch that closely. You are taking one bottle when you wake and one before bed only because you are not that great with your sippy cup just yet. You like to drink it so fast and then spit most of it back out. We have tried almost every sippy cup out there but you do the same thing with all of them. So that is the only reason you are still getting 2 bottles. I want to make sure you are getting enough fluid and nutrients! The nurse in me comes out and I kind of freak when you don't have any wet diapers for a while....

Your sleep schedule has changed some. You are waking between 6:30 and 7 and going down for a nap after lunch for about 2-3 hrs. I put you down between 11:30-1pm. It varies on the time you get up. Some mornings you take a cat nap in your carseat if we are out running errands, especially if you decide to get up before 6:30. Bedtime is the same usually around 8:30. We have really gotten a better bedtime routine going. You love to brush your teeth and read books before bed. And you love to snuggle while we rock you a little while before putting you down. One of Daddy's and my favorite time of the day. Some sweet snuggle time with you baby girl!

It just seems like here recently you started playing on your own. You use to not want to be in a room by yourself but now you are starting to crawl to the playroom to have a little playtime by yourself. You will actually sit and play with your toys for a little while before you are ready for me to hold you or onto something that is not a toy ;) I really can't say that you have any "favorite" toys...you do like ones that light up or make music and ones that you push. But I think mostly you like playing with things that aren't toys. You are waving hi and bye (been doing this for some time). Sometimes you even wave with both hands which is too cute! You will blow kisses and give kisses but you don't give them out too freely. Usually when we ask you for a kiss you say uh-uh and shake your head. Sometimes you even push us away if we try and kiss you and you don't want us too! You have quite the little attitude (and yes you got that from your momma...I guess I will take responsibility for it....LOL). You especially have attitude if you don't get your food fast enough or your brother is messing with you too much! And trust me you let everyone know about it!!

You LOVE music and have just recently starting "dancing" all the time when you hear it. You get so excited with any music really. You will get up on your knees, bounce, and clap your hands! It is just the cutest thing because you are all smiles and sometimes get to laughing with it too! You like to sing songs and you are really good about doing "patty cake"! If you are really upset "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star stills seems to calm you down and especially if your bubba sings it to you. Although, at night when I try to sing "Jesus Love Me" you like to stand in my lap and start "dancing"!! Ha ha!

You are a ball of ENERGY!! You want to go go go all the time. Really the only time you sit for longer than 5 mins is in your carseat or highchair. And maybe when we are holding you but even holding you are pushing away and trying to get down. You DO NOT like to sit in any cart. You want to stand up the entire time so I have found myself taking the stroller in lately because it makes me a nervous wreck having you stand in the cart!

You are very curious and just plan noisy. You love to get into anything and everything you shouldn't. You especially love to find something like a purse, diaper bag, or drawer and pull everything out. However, you do usually put most of it back in....just not in the order anyone would want it...LOL

As for walking...not yet. You are cruising the furniture and things but you seem to sit down immediately when you let go of something that is helping you stand. You can walk holding just one of our hands so I think you would be able to walk on your own but again...you like to do things on Emery's timeline and I am totally okay with that :)

Oh..our sweet Emery! You are such a BLESSING to our family and we couldn't imagine life without you. You honestly bring a joy to our family that I just cannot explain! You have the ability to light up a room and a smile that is so contagious!! I absolutely love your little personality that is shining through for everyone to see and I look forward to seeing more and more of that as you age! We love you more than you will ever know sweet girl!! Happy ONE year!!! Love, Daddy, Bubba, and Mommy!
