Preparing for the party!

A huge thanks to Grandmother Lawson for coming over Friday morning to help out with the kiddos so I could get some things ready for Max's birthday party!! Max and Grandmother had a blast playing together while Miss Emery was napping :)

The first part of my morning was spent making cupcakes!
Max loves strawberry cake and that is what he requested! I had to find some super cool sports cups to cover up the pink cake! LOL

I actually made Max's birthday shirt Thursday night and I LOVE LOVE how it turned out!!

And of course I made it to coordinate with his swim trunks for his party!!

And his towel I got from Kohls a while back...I got it monogrammed today too!

I actually spent majority of the time Grandmother (aka Mrs Lawson) was over painting the swing set. I actually almost finished. I still have the roof to do but it looks so great! It really looks like we got a new swingset!

Craig got off a little early and we went to Lowes and got a piece of plywood cut for the bottom of the swingset so we could make a sandbox!! Max was so excited and played for quite some time in it! I let him pick out these little sand toys at Target one day this week for a little birthday prize. He actually got something small each day this week. I love me some birthday celebrations!

Friday night I got out his pinata that he picked out at Party City!

He pretty much stuffed it all on his own!

When he was done he said "Okay Let's go HIT it!!" Ha!! He wasn't too happy when he realized that he had to wait until his party the next day! LOL

Friday night we got most of the things set up so that Sat morning things weren't too crazy!

It really helped a lot and made the party go smoothly...and I stayed up till 1am icing the cupcakes but it was totally worth it because Max was super excited about how they were all iced like sports balls!! Sometimes it is just the little things....

Painting the swing set...

Another work in progress....

So we got this swing from a dear neighbor right after Max was born. We had a knock on our door when we had the stork in the front yard and our neighbor wanted to know if we would like a swingset. Well, we weren't sure because I mean it was going to be a while before Max ever played on it....
But obviously we decided yes! So we got a FREE swingset! I am not sure how old it is but we have had it 3 years now and it was in the some serious need of a little TLC.

So, I thought why not restain/water seal it! And why not let Max help!! We even bought him a little paint brush just for him! The before pic....well the almost before pic...we had started painting on the rock wall!

Max had paint all over him! Luckily it just washes off with a little soap and water :)

He had fun painting with me. He kept telling me "Mommy, I am such a great painter!".

I only got a little bit done on Thursday night because we had a little incident with Max and Emery. Max was pushing Emery around in the little red car (you can see her in it in a few pics above), lost control and Emery face planted onto the concrete. It was very scary to see and so so heart breaking. Max took off running because Emery and I were screaming (yes, I freaked out for a min) and I am pretty sure I was going to spank him. It was a very crazy moment in time. Emery has a little bit of road rash on her nose and face but otherwise is doing great. Max on the other hand has been talked to over and over about how we do not touch our sister. I know it was an accident but I pray that that doesn't happen again....EVER!!! Don't worry we didn't spank Max....he just got a good let's sit down and talk....oh no...now that I said that I think we may be turning into our parents....ha ha ha!!

We got a WATER SLIDE!!

We are now the owners of a water slide!!!

I had planned to rent a water slide for Max's birthday party so I called about renting one and it was going to be $325-$450!! I was like WHAT?!!!! So needless to say I decided to BUY one that was actually cheaper than that and get to keep it!!

Max was SUPER EXCITED of course!!

Emery too! She got all twisted up in the cords Saturday while we were putting the slide together. We wanted to blow it up and make sure everything worked properly before Max's party!

And of course everything worked great!!

We let Max play on it for a little bit just aired up. He had a great time just playing on it like a bouncy house slide! We didn't try out the water part just yet....

That will be left for his party for next week....fun times and memories to be made on this water slide! Can't wait to have friends over to PLAY!

Fun times with friends!

Just a quick post...

Max met a little boy named Ryan in his class at Highland Heights PDO and he talked about him all the time. Long story short I asked his Mommy if we could get the boys together over the summer! She was delighted and she informed me that we went to HS together! Oops!! Where oh where has my brain gone.....LOL

Anyways, we had a playdate with them today and we had a GREAT time!! Thanks for the invite Melissa! It was so great to see our baby girls and boys play together! Emery and Zoey are about the same age as well as Max and Ryan!
We had such a FUN day with them and look forward to many more!

And then there were three....

We started brushing Emery's teeth this week!! She now officially has THREE teeth and one more about to pop through on the top.

She LOVED it!! She was laughing and smiling the entire time! I was worried it would hurt a little as the one on top is almost through the gums but she didn't seem to be bothered a bit!
She quickly took over as I am sure she can do a much better job! LOL

You can see the three teeth here! Yes we have been calling her snaggle tooth!! LOL I have no idea why she didn't get her top middle teeth first....instead she is getting her ones on either side of the top middle two! She is going to look a little silly for a while! At least she is cute...right?!

Loving her toothbrush!! Lets hope it ALWAYS stays this way!!

AND WE CAN'T FORGET MAX!!! He kept saying "Mommy take my picture!"

And "Look at this Mommy, I can brush my teeth all myself!"

"I am doing a great job....see Mommy!"

"See, see, see Mommy!" Those are some pretty whites!!

Man, I LOVE that boy! He is itching for some attention lately. Whenever we are making a big deal of Emery's FIRSTS he is right there wanting to be a part of it too. We try to find other things that we are excited for him...like that he is a BIG boy and can brush his teeth by himself (don't worry I still help a little just to make sure we get them very clean). It is hard to explain to him that he has a blog post just about him and us brushing his teeth for the first time. I just LOVE my babies!!!

Ball Pit Fun!

Gosh I LOVE these two babies!!

Max is really starting to PLAY with Emery...sometimes it is a little too rough and we end up with tears but hey...its a working progress...I am sure it won't be long and Emery will be making Max cry as well :)
Some days are better than others but it seems lately Max is very touchy with her. He is constantly wrestling, smacking, or just screaming in her face! And of course she starts screaming and then Max starts screaming because I get on to him :( I am praying for patience and guidance in this area...so if anyone has any pointers I would love to hear them. I really feel like I am constantly getting onto Max these days :(

I mean he does LOVE LOVE LOVE her....he is just so ROUGH sometimes....

And I will say Emery LOVE LOVE LOVES her bubba too!!

Anyways....Miss Emery is clapping ALL the time now! It is so super cute!

She is also starting to PULL UP!!!

She is pretty steady on her feet and can actually stand alone for a about a second! She is getting so BIG!!

Uh oh! CHECK OUT THAT PRECIOUS SMILE!!! I think this pic may just be the best one I have gotten in over a year!!! Maybe that means we will have more pics of Max's face soon! LOL

Just FYI the playroom is still a work in progress in these pics.....hence the green walls still from Emery's old room.

Laney's Birthday Party!

We went to my niece Laney's Birthday party on Saturday and we had a BLAST!

It was rather hot but the kids stayed cool in the water and adults in the shade!
We were worried Max wouldn't be able to get on the slide without help but he acted like he was a PRO at it! He had at the BEST time playing on it! It wasn't too easy to get him off of it!

He even played in the baby pool for a bit :) That boy LOVES so water!!

The cake was quite adorable! You can't see it that great here but it was a strawberry cake with some cute sunglasses, ice cream cones, beach balls and flip flops cookies as the decorations. Oh and it was super yummy!!!
