The rest of the week...

These first few pictures were actually taken Wednesday Sept. 5th...I honestly couldn't tell you what we ended up doing that day...

I know it was a laid back day....

and I remember going to Target for a few essential items and coming out with a new movie and a bag of CANDY CORN!!! Oh my goodness I love me some FRESH candy corn!! And that it means FALL IS COMING!!!! We are READY!!

Having a little playtime...Max had to rest a bit and watch a show!! This pic cracks me up!! 

I do remember on Wed I couldn't get Emery to nap so I allowed her to rest on the couch with Max and watch the Lorax. (The Lorax is the kids FAVORITE movie right now!! The would watch it over and over and over if I let them!!) Well....it wasn't that successful...I think I may have told her two hundred and fifty times to get back on the couch...sigh....

On Thursday we celebrated Craig's birthday...see the post before...On Friday (Sept. 7th) we woke up and had a low key morning. The kids were very restless and bored so we decided to go on a CAMPING TRIP in our kitchen!! We made the table our tent. Grabbed flash lights, books, pillows, blankets, and lovies and camped out!! It was a BLAST!!

The kids LOVED it!! Then we made plans to have a playdate with our friends Maggie and Noah!! We headed over to their house for some much needed playtime!! The kids had a great time playing together!!

Emery had so much fun she passed out on the way home!! SCORE for me!!

Then that night we all went out for dinner at El Mezcal and then to do a little shopping! We headed to Old Navy and picked up a few fall things for the kids. Then over to Rack Room to get the kids food measured. Max was still measuring at a 10 so his shoes from last year will work fine for now. Emery was measuring at a 7 and a half!! So we go her some size 8 white keds and since they were buy one get one 50% off we grabbed these adorable mary jane crocs in a size 8!! So cute!! We basically got the crocs since we were going to the beach soon and hopefully her foot will slow down and she will be able to wear them next year...one can hope...

On Saturday (Sept. 8th) we had a low key morning. Max was suppose to have his FIRST soccer game but it got rained out as it POURED all night and into the morning. He was so disappointed. But we made the best of it and enjoyed the beautiful weather by going Putt-putt!!

Max was all about it!! He was trying hard to get another hole in one but he didn't get one this time around.

Emery was such a little ham!! She kept picking the ball up and just throwing into the hole!! Then screaming "I DID it!!" Ha!!

We ended the afternoon by coming home and watching the TN game with Nana and Pawpaw at our house. We had some pizza, salad, and a few appetizers. It was very laid back and fun. Then I had to end the fun by heading to work...boo! 

Daddy's BiRtHDaY!!!

On Sept. 6th we celebrated Craig's (aka Daddy) Birthday!! Both kids had school so after I picked them up we headed home to bake Daddy's cake!!

Both kids were all about HELPING!!!

And they were mighty GOOD helpers I must say!!

Then the kids decorated Daddy's birthday card!! They were having a good ole time making beautiful pictures!!

We got the table set up so Daddy would be surprised when he got home!! We made Daddy's request of salad and spagetti!! 

Max wanted to make Daddy a Dallas Cowboys Football cake so we picked up a football cake pan and made one! It turned out pretty cute. We made Craig's favorite strawberry with cream cheese icing. So we used brown sprinkles to make it look more like a football. Plus sprinkles make everything more FUN!!

We got him a Memphis shirt, new headphone set, and a case for his phone! Then we told him he had money to go shopping while we were at the beach!!

We headed out to Max's soccer practice and found out on the way that it got CANCELLED due to heat index levels! We were all bummed out since we rushed through Daddy's birthday celebration to get to his first soccer practice in time :(

Max was really upset because he had been pumped about it all week!! So we stopped at our local park and hit the ball around for a little bit. 

We didn't stay long as it was very hot!! But it made Max one happy little boy!!

And we had one HAPPY Daddy too!! Such a special day to celebrate the life of my sweet hubbie and one amazing Daddy to two sweet babies!! We are so BLESSED for each day we get to spend with him!! Praying for many many more birthday celebrations with him!! Happy Happy Birthday babe!! The 3 of us LOVE you more than you will ever know!! 

FIRST time at the FAIR!!

Yes..I am still trying to catch up on the blog...my goal is to get caught up this week!! Go me!! LOL

Anyways...we ventured out to the Delta Fair on Sept. 3. It was a FIRST for all of us!! And not so sure it was all it was cracked up to be...

Max wanted to play a game so we let him pick one as it was $5 bucks for him to throw 3 darts!! Kind of silly if you ask me. It was $5 bucks for an adult to throw 1 dart!! Really?! Okay...so enough complaining...Max LOVED it!! He thought he was BIG stuff!!

We attempted to eat lunch there but none of us liked what we got. Craig and I got an over cooked pronto pup and the kids got some fries and chicken (well emery got chicken). They really didn't eat but one bite of a piece...oh well...we can at least say we tried some fair food ;)

We headed to the petting zoo next!! Emery was all about the little goat until it decided to get really close!! LOL

Her favorite was the BUNNIES!! She kept talking to them!! It was so cute!!

The kids rode the Carousel as we were leaving...yes...we only stayed like maybe 2 hrs tops. It was really HOT and crowded and we just wanted to go....

SWIMMING!!! Yea!! Thanks to Nana and Pawpaw we could!! We got (probably) our last day of swimming in their pool in and grilled out some yummy hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner!! 

Fun family time together!!

Gotta love holidays for that very reason!! 

Emery's 2nd BiRtHdAy Party!!

We celebrated Emery's 2nd Birthday on September 1st! Below is her invite. I did crop off the bottom so that our address and phone number weren't listed for all to see ;) They turned out really cute!

The party favors!! I tried to dip them in chocolate but they didn't turn out so I skipped that part. Just cut out a rice krispie with a mickey cookie cutter. Then used fruit roll-up for the bow, added a candy stick and wala instant party favors.

It took a quite some time but it was totally worth it! A big thanks to Tracy J for her help with it! She actually used it that afternoon for her daughter Crawford's bday party. And another big thanks to Tracy's sister for lending us the cricut and my friend Amy for letting us use your cartridges!! Couldn't have done this without everyone's help!!

Family pic before the party started!! Emery was covered in her rash again :( Def her antibiotic doing this but she needs it to get better so doc wanted us to finish it up. However, she will NEVER get it again!! I can't watch my lil one go through this even if it doesn't bother her that much!

I didn't have really anything special for the kids to do. They just played in the playroom and around the house before we ate.

Emery wanted to open presents first thing so she was READY when it was actually time to open them! She got a My first dollhouse from Nana and Pawpaw!!

All the boys were very quite during present opening....here's why....LOL

A HUGE stuffed bear from Grandmother and Granddaddy! Emery knew just what it was when she started opening it!! "BEAR!" she screamed!! We have said hi to this bear for months at Costco! Every time we go we have to make sure we go see it!! Now Emery has her very own!!

Her BIG present from Mommy, Daddy, and Bubba! A trampoline!!! She was super excited when we brought it out!! She LOVES this thing!! We played on it at a friend's house a while back and hands down one of my favorite gifts for my kids. However, not so much my favorite gift to put together....that's a whole other story!!! Ha!

After presents comes.....CAKE!!! Okay...so I was going to make some adorable Minnie Mouse cupcakes but with everything going on this week with Emery being sick I decided last minute to go order an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Emery LOVES ice cream and doesn't really like cake so it just made sense. However, I wasn't expecting to order the cake without seeing any pictures or ideas of what they do....well....here's what they do....LOL It isn't the prettiest cake we have ever gotten but it was YUMMY and Emery LOVED it!!

She screamed "Minnie!!!" when she saw it!! It is totally her "ugly" cake but it was yummy and Emery loved it so that is all that matters!

Emery was so SHY while everyone was singing to her and during a lot of her presents too. She has a phobia of men right now and really only likes her daddy, pawpaw, and granddaddy. Everyone else (including the Uncle's at the party) scare her for some reason. Just a phase she is going through I am assuming...

I totally forgot to give her the cards that came in the mail! First up Aunt Regina sent her a birthday card with TWO dollars!! Emery screamed "Money!!" Yes...she is two but she knows what money is!! Thanks Aunt Regina!!

And one from Grandpa Mickey and Grandma Helen!! They sent her a $20 bill!! "Ohhhh she said more Money!!" I read her card to her!! Thanks Gpa Mickey and Gma Helen!! Will let you know what Emery picks out with it!!

All her goodies minus the trampoline. She got the Minnie radio/microphone from her friend Maggie, a baby doll from Uncle Taylor, Aunt Nicole, Wesley, Sam and Ethan, another Minnie dress up set from us and the big sister room for her doll house, and 4 other room sets from Nana and Pawpaw to go with her dollhouse! A BIG THANKS to all those that came and brought Emery a gift!! She LOVES everything!!

It was such a nice day after the rain stopped (early in the morning) that the kids ventured out to play outside!! The boys all had a little one on one action with Uncle Taylor!!

Maggie tried out the bike that our neighbors passed down to Emery and she was taking off!! So exciting!! We loaned it to her to keep practicing since Emery really isn't big enough for it yet!!

All our friends and family headed out so back inside to cool off and play some more!!

Emery was cracking me up playing with the doll house! She put the mommy and daddy to bed together, was rocking the baby and singing to her....just funny to see how they see things from us and pretend play with what they see. (not sure if that makes any sense....)

And to totally throw a random pic in. This is what Emery got from her best buddie Crawford. She couldn't be at Emery's bday party because she had her sister's bday party and she had her own bday party after Emery's in the afternoon. We went and they exchanged gifts there. A big thanks to Crawford (well her mommy Tracy) for our FIRST dress up clothes!! Emery LOVES them!!

I would have to say that Emery's 2nd birthday party was a HIT!! We had a great time with our family and friends that were able to come!! We did miss those that couldn't travel to be with us but we know you were there in spirit!! We want to say thanks to all that came because you all are a big part of Emery's life and we wanted Emery to feel SPECIAL!! Mission accomplished!! She had a wonderful day!! Now to stop time because I want her to stay little for a while longer....
